We have narrowed down the class, but each class has multiple variants available. I’ve chosen six possibilities that seem most appealing to me and outlined their biggest assets. This will be a rags to riches pirate story, starting on Emrys’s first day on a pirate ship.

Rakshasa blooded- a sorcerer descended from the hedonistic tiger headed rakshasa. They lie with incredible skill and tend to be good with disguises and manipulation, both magical and mundane.

Serpent blooded - a mesmerizing sorcerer descended from the serpent people that once ruled over humans, who can draw people in with his magnetic personality or mind influencing magic. When that doesn’t work, there’s always his venomous bite. The best sorcerer when it comes to making friends and talking to people in good faith.

Wishcrafter - a sorcerer descended from genies, capable of granting the wishes of those around him and gaining a power boost if he does. At high levels, he can force enemies to make wishes that he can twist back around at them. Not necessarily more flexible than most other sorcerers by default, but encouraged to put effort into having a more varied spell list so he can grant more kinds of wishes.

Cult Master: a Mesmerist with the most insidious of all powers: getting people to like and trust him. He can inspire his allies with a fervent desire to strike his enemies down and fight through the pain. Eventually he will be able to cultivate a rather large collection of minor minions, and is easily the best at diplomacy chosen from these options. 

Vizier- a Mesmerist who has mastered the art of staying in the background. His magic works best on his own allies, pushing them around to his advantage and making enemies forget he even exists. 

Chart Caster: through the power of knowingly bullshit astrology, the Chart Caster Mesmerist can fake prophecy and make it happen. This will most commonly be useful to make himself or others harder to hurt/kill. Likely the best choice of the six for a swashbuckling sort of all rounder.
