October’s Poll Winners, November’s Plan, and Thank You!

OK, this last month was… great. Just great, I have no other words for it, for how it felt to see so many new readers rush in and support me, it’s… Wow.

I’m awed, really.

It also was the month I finally managed to (partially) get over my fears of rejection and post something on Amazon, even if it didn’t show up in there until November, and I don’t think I would’ve managed if I hadn’t had the impetus to write this little Halloween extra for you all, so, again, thank you.

It’s… OK, before I get too mushy, let me announce the poll winners and my vaguely plan-shaped goals for this month:

On the Plot Bunnies poll, there’s been a tie between She-Ra’s little nugget of a plot and Haruhi’s story. I’m really tempted by Haruhi, but at the same time, I’m kinda concerned that it will turn into another Konosuba situation because I just know those characters aren’t going to let me get away with a single one-shot once I dive into them, so, kinda reluctantly, we’re going to go with Adora and her bed-murdering ways.

For now.

Regarding the Extra Poll, this time “Chef’s Choice” won, which… Thank you, everyone. That show of trust means a lot.

In this particular instance, though, it means that I’m a bit undecided. Last month’s Tales from a Lewd Fantasy World still needs to be written, and fitting two chapters of it in a single month may be a bit hard to do. Maybe I’ll pick up another of the one-shot options, as I had entirely too much fun with The Demon Girl Next Door and with Shego being crap at Cyranoing. We shall see.

That neatly brings us around to my plans for the rest of the month. Both Wake-up Call and All Right! Fine! I Wil Take You! are picking up speed now that I’ve stopped (almost) freaking out about their looming endings, so those are a given (and may take slightly more of my words-per-day than in the past couple of months as I grit my teeth and push forward), and both Wordsworth and Of Sisters and Shadows should get a new chapter before the month’s over—though likely near the end of it to keep the momentum going through the start of December. I still have to write the next Periodical Cicadas next Monday, and I’ll likely fit a third chapter this month, if both the word count and my brain allow me to do so (the brain is the actual limiting factor here).

And then there’s the next A Pure Knight’s Natural Enemy brewing monstrosity that will… be a thing. Definitely a thing.

(Side note: don’t you hate it when you have a very clear endpoint in mind yet absolutely no clue about how the damn middle of the book should go? No? Just me? Damn it, this is sex-ed all over again…)

On the commission front, I’ll get back to some Puella Monstrum soon enough, as that’s the most thoroughly outlined story in the docket (which is more a commentary on the lacking outline of the otherprojects), but this month I’ll prioritize Ginosko, seeing as I’ve skipped updating it one too many times, given how much I utterly enjoy that story and how patient Shaderic has been with me.

Also, that it’s an original. A factor that should be of greater priority than I’ve assigned to up till now.

OK, so… That’s basically it: the usual stories, the usual commissions, and a few bright spots of freedom of choice that would’ve made my Catholic school teachers theologically proud, if not morally so.

Again, thank you all. For your support, for being there, and for enjoying my work. I’ll do my best to live up to your trust.

Now, I’m off to see how much Ginosko I can fit in a weekend. Oh, and have dinner, I guess.
