Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes - Part 1: Incentives and perks

All right, do you remember when, near the end of February, I told you all I would be polling you relentlessly throughout March? My, how does time fly…

The thing is, I really need to make some changes around here, but I would like to get your input on them for the dual reasons of me being crap at making decisions on my own and because this is… Well, as trite as it may sound, it’s really not just mine, you know? I’m very used to writing in solitude for products that end up with me getting no feedback at all, and this is a completely different experience. Interacting with you, listening to your opinions, speculation, and witty asides has been entirely different from anything I’ve ever done before. So, I don’t feel like I can take decisions unilaterally.

That being said, these polls won’t be binding (even though I’ll most likely feel like they will be, because I know how my head works); they are just meant to be a way for me to listen to you. If, aside from casting a vote, you want to offer something more substantial or personal, be it in the comments or the Discord, I’ll be ecstatic to listen to it.

So, first question: I don’t feel like I’m offering enough for you to stay here. The lowest subscription tiers are akin to buying a comic book, which is all well and good, except that that comic book will be available for free to everyone else after just one week, and you don’t get to even choose the comic, just the author. So, between these options, which do you think would help make the membership worth it?

Eh, you're a good author Agrippa, I can't say I care for everything you write, but as long as there's more fodder for the smugbug ship, I'm content. the current system works well enough.

I appreciate the sentiment, but the thing is that people who subscribed as early as last September keep leaving. 21 subscribers have canceled their pledge, and, while I'm extremly grateful for their having supported me in the first place, it doesn't change the fact that it's a substantial percentage of the total base, so I need to take that into account.

The only reason I donated is that I enjoy the content made and want to make sure it continues being made. While you might be correct in choosing to poll those who never subscribed to find out what might encourage them to do so, for your own sake, those of us who already did are happy with how it is.
