Another cam update
Added 2023-07-02 02:35:42 +0000 UTCHey y’all! So, first of all, there were only two posts here last month, and none exclusive to the higher tier. That’s not what I want to happen when I’m at my highest patron count yet, and I’m sorry for the lack of work here. It’s been the hardest month ever, for lots of personal reasons I won’t get into. Work has continued to be hard to find and I haven’t even been able to hear back from any retail jobs. The only relief from things being awful we’re when my partner and I went on trips to visit both of our families! Those trips were the only times I felt good this month, but also, not the best places to be doing consistent drawing work!
As you can tell, comics kinda ground to a halt. I burnt out hard after finishing the first issue of flying saucer in such a short amount of time, and I pushed myself to get the second one started before I was ready, since patreon money is the only thing supporting me right now, and I wanted to keep producing things for it! That was probably a mistake and it led to tons of frustrating nights and scrapped comics.
So now I feel stuck, both unable to work on the project I set out for myself, unable to start something new, but still relying on my own productivity to have some stability. It’s tough but I’m going to work through it!
This month my patreon money is going towards an eye test and new glasses, since my vision has been killing me and making drawing really difficult! I’m going to do my best to start getting things up on patreon again, but I’m going to open the door for myself to let that be whatever it is. Flying saucer comics and matchmaker art were both hard to do in my current mental space, so Flying saucer miiight take a bit of a break. My plan is to consistently release comics of some kind under the $1.50 tier, and release art and sketches under the $3 tier! Flying saucer pages will go up when I feel up making it, but otherwise it might be some messier short comics and standalone work! If anyone has some advice on how to properly run this patreon, pls comment below. Otherwise, see you soon with lots of posts this month, whatever they may be 💜

Don’t burn yourself out!! I adore Matchmaker and Flying Saucer Video, they help me feel so much better. But if it’s hurting you, I want you to take the time to heal first and foremost!! Oxygen mask, y’know? We love ya here, we’re not going away any time soon ❤️

I'll definitely put more focus into this type of thing, now that I'm seeing more interest for that type of post, I'll focus a little more on it, as it's easier for me and gets more work in front of peoples eyes here even if it's messy! 2023-07-02 19:31:21 +0000 UTCPlease don’t even worry about it. Matchmaker singlehandedly saved my mental health all of last year and most of this one too, and FSV is just awesome. Personally I’d love to see more sketches/WIPs because they’re awesome and help me grow and learn as an artist! But also agreed with previous commenters—happy to support as long as I financially can, regardless of your output.
