Bookstore Update

Thanks for your patience the last week everyone! I am so grateful to all of you for your support and ia appreciate all the new subscribers!

The reason ive been kinda radio silent is ive been working 14 hour days setting up a mini sample version of my bookshop. If you're new, the TLDR is: for many years I've owned south floridas largest independent bookshop (we won many awards). It was demolished in events related to hurricane Ian and Ive been fighting insurance to get them to pay what they owe me so we can rebuild / make some decisions about next steps

In the meantime my dear dear friends stepped up with a super creative offer; they own a massive and extremely cool antique mall in Michigan, where they have carved out a prime spot for us to build a little mini bookish experience bringing the aesthetic and the next level intensity of my work to life for anyone (ahem, investors) who might find the tangible experience informative. Bonus: customers of the antique mall get to enjoy the classy, extra as fuck bookshop vibes.

Everyone has been working like MAD to get this live for summer.

For example, this was my day today:

This morning after 9 hours of coding i fixed the barcode problem that's been plaguing our inventory system since 2018, integrated my system with the mall's, trained their staff on how to use THEIR system to scan barcodes (and i did it so well they all came up to me later separately to thank me, bc they understood how much work it will save them), and then with local assistance I individually retagged 1/2 the books we unpacked yesterday so they can now be admired by customers of the mall, and unpacked another 30 boxes of books after dinner

I was so busy I did not notice the drywall dust all over the front of my shirt 🤦‍♀️

Time for bed now I am tired
