functional pacifier 2.0
Added 2025-01-16 14:00:12 +0000 UTCupd. sep. 14, 2025: fixed an issue that could cause UI problems. i had to remove the ability for the pacifier to automatically disappear during meals and baths :( please make sure to download the new file!

new features in new version:
three new pacifiers are now available in three different colors. you can check out all new pacifiers in the video thumbnail of this post.
all pacifiers work for both infants and toddlers. i used the texture slot for glasses, so unfortunately, it’s not possible to use glasses and a pacifier at the same time. however, you can now wear the pacifier together with onesies, which wasn’t possible in the first version.
adult sims can now give pacifiers to children. after this interaction, the child will immediately start wearing the pacifier. for this, i used the in-game "check infant/toddler" animation, so there’s no custom animation. please note that the "give pacifier" action won’t show up if the sim is carrying the baby.
you can get pacifiers by purchasing them through the computer.
you can remove the pacifier by clicking either on the pacifier itself or directly on the sim.

please delete the old files from your mods folder: "simkatu functional pacifier for infants.package" and "simkatu functional pacifier for toddlers.package". there won't be any conflicts, but the new version of the mod was created from scratch and does not include the old files.

2025-10-04 11:27:45 +0000 UTChi! sorry for late answer( it’s most likely because the eyes or hair you’re using are custom and use the same texture space as glasses. i’d suggest trying different ones for your baby if you’d like to keep using the mod

I hope you can get it fixed where the toddler can remove it when eating or drinking. Additional color swatches and styles would be wonderful as well.

2025-09-13 15:52:58 +0000 UTChi!! it seems this mod might be broken/buggy- i tested with only this mod and XML injector in a new save in a fresh /Documents/EA Games/The Sims 4 folder and the UI breaks when an infant is being fed mashed foods in a high chair and you try to switch between sims

2025-09-12 19:26:19 +0000 UTCyes, all my mods are compatible. but many of my mods require xml injector to work. xml injector isn’t compatible with the new “pack selection” feature, and it may cause errors. so if you want to use my gameplay mods, do not use this feature

2025-08-26 02:10:06 +0000 UTCso sorry to hear that! unfortunately i’m not sure what could be causing the issue :( i tested it on my end and everything seems to work fine — better exceptions doesn’t show any problems either, and there shouldn’t be any errors in the code. maybe you have both the old and new version of the pacifiers installed at the same time? that might cause some issues. i’d also recommend clearing your game cache — sometimes that helps too!

2025-06-23 20:14:32 +0000 UTCUnfortunately this mod does not work for me. I click to give the pacifier to an infant, my sims t poses for a second then goes back to normal, the pacifier is still in the inventory. I tried erdownloading it also and still happens.
