Metal Percussion: T Pot Bridge Sample Pack

I really enjoy taking walks across this pedestrian walkway in my city of Richmond, VA. While it's official name is the T. Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge, locals refer to it at the T-Pot Bridge. Much easier to say.

It has dizzying views of the rushing James River below, and downtown Richmond (for better or worse depending on the buildings you look at).

But you know what else it's got? A lot of metal beams and wires and stuff that goes CLANG!

So I headed out one day with my Tascam recorder and WHAM electronics lowphone mic and captured the 121 samples that are included here in this collection. I personally love these sounds and hope you do too. They are yours to do with as you wish.

I have more on the way! There are a lot of parks in Richmond with old metal bits and pieces.

I’m a real sucker for listening to the sound of metal vibrating.

I’m looking forward to hearing it. And yes- I’m always stopping to listen.

This is great. Can’t wait to make a song out of these. I wrote a song inspired by a sample of my young daughter tapping a pool rail. I’ll share with you when it’s finished. Sounds are everywhere! We just have to stop and take the time to hear them
