2025-06-30 18:12:58 +0000 UTC46:17 There is a blink and you'll miss it scene, where it shows Fido watching Shin, Annette, and Rei 10 years before current date, back when they lived in District 1. What do you think that might mean? :)

2025-06-30 18:08:48 +0000 UTCA couple things, Shin didn't gain his ability from his near death experience, he was born with it. You even hear Shin asking Rei why he couldn't hear his mothers voice anymore, right before the choking happened. There is a lore reason, but the anime has yet to touch on that, so I'll leave it alone. When Fido's life was flashing before his eyes, right at the end there was a flash of a memory with Shin and Annette as children, I don't for sure (I've not read all of the LN), but given Shin's family was heavily involved in the development of the pararaid, it being based on the connection between Shin and his mother, Fido was likely the brain of family dog. :(
