Other possible vectors of this offensive: 1) the breakdown in relations between the UAE and Saudi Arabia over the past month, culminating in a Saudi assault on UAE backed separatists in southern Yemen. It’s unclear who’s Trump, and who’s Trumper in that conflict. The UAE historically tilted closer to China, but that may be misleading. 2) the ‘failed’ trade deal between Trump and Canadian PM Mark Carney that liberals are so enamoured of. These signals scramble commodity values and trigger speculation against our dollar. 3) Ongoing violence against Hindus in the lead up to national elections in Bangladesh. A doctor was set on fire by a salafist mob on New Year’s Eve. Instability in this border country feeds directly into the conflagration at all times ready to explode in Myanmar. USAID affiliated minority activists in Bangladesh have storied ties to both the Chin and Arakan rebel armies.

2026-01-03 20:57:19 +0000 UTCWhat I have been able to glean from the news is that the drone strikes on Russian oil installations are targeted and trained by the CIA- but they are carried out by Ukraine. Also the strategy has been designed to provide maximum pressure on the supply of winter heating oil such that the government will have to choose between military operations against Ukraine- or heat the civilian population of Russia through the winter. I do believe that Venezuela is the cornerstone of maintaining a US petrodollar global economy that can choke or pressure the East- be it China or Russia. While Russia is essentially holding Ukraine (or really Europe more broadly) hostage and Chinese naval exercises perform a mock invasion of Taiwan they are while demanding access to the oil in the western hemisphere and Africa- Trump is making Venezuela our seventh US territory.
