It isn't that they're evil though. The main point is that they're a predatory species and their prey is humans. I'm not so sure that "not understanding" is really a good excuse here, either. Yeah, she didn't understand the bond between a parent and a child and thought the child could just be replaced, but she still didn't think twice about KILLING SOMEONE for her own benefit. In the end it wasn't just not understanding human society, it was a complete disregard for the life of another purely for self interest. She wasn't trying to help anyone, she was trying to make things more convenient for herself. Additionally, the moment she realized she had made a mistake she was ready to use the child as a hostage. She wanted "peace" and that sounds nice and all, but when you actually look at the situation that ultimately just meant she didn't want to die and was willing to kill innocent people around her to that end. It doesn't contradict anything that was said about demons in this episode. It also doesn't mean that demons are evil, calling them that applies human values onto them. They're monsters that kill humans, they're doing what comes naturally to them. Humans don't kill demons because the demons are evil, they kill demons for survival. Don't look at the situation through an anthropocentric lens. Humans and demons in this situation are no different than any other animals. Edit: Also, to expand on how "not understanding" isn't a good excuse here, she doesn't understand how human relationships work, but we know that demons don't want to die just like any other creature. So, again, she still knows what it's like to not want to die and still killed someone who saved her life purely for her own convenience. "She didn't understand" is only one part of the issue here.

2025-04-23 15:22:52 +0000 UTCAt the end of the day the demon child still said she wanted to live in peace and didn't kill to eat. If she hadn't killed that one girl before it could have actually worked out. Kinda goes against the moral that demons are evil and you can't live with them. At the very least that specific one just didn't understand how stuff works.
