[Collector+] Great House Signet Rings

Crafted during the chaotic dawn of Daragaard’s political landscape these rings became a way for the members of the Great Houses Noble estate to communicate across their own houses, as well as inter house without fear of contamination. These rings lend a little more to Athana and Daragaard specific campaigns - but can be moulded very simply to give one of the ability +1s and the effect of non tampering wax!

Lore

In the early days of Daragaard, the political landscape was tumultuous and fractured. After the initial founding and acceptence of structure, while the original heroes and house leaders were in power, there was no problems or threats. However, after a few generations of the core families had passed, the friendship and bond between them had eroded, and been replaced with skepticism, worry and fear.

For a few generations around 200-400aw, power struggles were commonplace, as each house vied to expand its influence within the kingdom. During this period, communication between the houses was vital yet perilous. Messages carried across the lands bore the risk of interception and tampering, as rival factions often attempted to forge or alter dispatches to mislead or undermine their adversaries. Impersonation of leaders became a favored tactic among less scrupulous factions, leading to widespread mistrust and chaos.

Recognizing the need for a secure method of correspondence, the great houses sought the aid of skilled artificers and mages. The resu lt was the creation of the Great House Signet Rings. The rings were enchanted to seal documents with a special magical wax that was immune to forgery. This wax also possessed the unique property of changing color when tampered with, thus revealing any attempts to alter the sealed message.

The rings quickly became essential to maintaining the integrity of communications between the houses. They ensured that only those bearing the official seal of a house could issue orders or spread information, which significantly reduced the incidence of impersonation and misinformation. Over time, as the political landscape of Daragaard stabilized and the houses solidified their power, the rings continued to serve as both symbols of their bearers' legitimate authority and guardians of their will.
