Just to add on to the other comment: There is apparently an older phrase from Elizabethan times that follows a similar idea; "nine days wonder". Kind of interesting how it really showcases the speed at which the world loses interest so much quicker now in these fleetingly famous people- from days to minutes in just a few hundred years

Interestingly, the latin (or rather the translation) seems to be wrong: "victor" means just that, victor. The one who won. "victima" would be the closest term for victim. Although I guess the killer might have meant victor in the sense of "winning" his lottery of who will be the next victim, and Abby just guessed that he meant victim ...

I look forward to "NCIS Day" every week, and it never disappoints. Loving these reactions, especially when a serial killer or intriguing puzzle is involved as it really gets your gears turning. And this episode was really good! I know there was a twist on the twist at the end as to who did it, but you guessed so closely to that it was impressive. It makes sense that it would be someone we've seen, but still. The show doesn't make it easy to guess, so I think you won this one anyway. My only small complaint, which is hard to have for how well this episode was made, is that targeting Gibbs felt random in the end (to me, anyway). I wish there was a little more significance behind it, but I suppose it still makes sense that the killer didn't really care who it was cast in the role they needed. Also: 1. The term "15 minutes of fame" is an expression inspired by something artist and film-maker Andy Warhol (also known as the King of Pop Art) said in 1968, at an exhibition of his work at somewhere in Sweden. He was referring to how with the rise of mass media, people would achieve brief moments of public attention or celebrity for trivial reasons. The famous quote of inspiration was "in the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes". It's interesting just how right he was, with how social media etc is nowadays. 2. On a less "fun fact" note, you're right that the Doomsday clock is no longer 5 minutes to midnight. As of a 2025 statement, it's currently at 89 seconds to midnight...
