Dear Craftworldians,
Welcome to another, in depth lesson of Underpainting & Overlapping Layers techniques, featured using our beloved buddy NPC Ezekiel. And full paint along tutorial.

This bust was available as STL printable file for our Patrons as a Halloween Special last month. But if you didn't manage to get your copy, worry not, since Ezekiel is now available, as printable STL, at our Patreon Shop.

With this lesson I will guide you trough yet another underpainting insight, color choices and application. This time, trying to keep focus on the time consumption of each step. Every step takes certain time. With each step we explore the sculpt, its volumes and details and inspire our further steps.
I will share with you how and why we use these techniques in our lessons. And, though they can be used for fast painting methods in some occasions, these techniques have a great values for your painting journey and leveling up in color theory understanding and color use. As well as practicing and getting more skilled in painting fundamentals, such as color and brush use, volumes, composition, harmony...etc.
These techniques bring our students closer to our artistic style, but our main idea behind these techniques is to bring you closer to appreciating color harmonies, tonal variations and creativity in painting.
In recent times, I see more and more people using underpainting in miniature painting, in lessons, in tricks and tips, but there is so much more to these techniques, especially in the lessons you can see here on our Patreon Platform.
We could see there values from our lessons were taken in many Miniature Projects that you guys shared with us, already. And we appreciate it. We both hope this video will still give you better insight and possibilities for usage of these tecniques.
And for those who are not that familiar with why and how we use Underpainting & Overlapping, I believe this will be one more great introduction to these techniques.
Ps. Don't forget to follow up on, WHERE TO START TUTORIALS.
In 2022, we featured Ezekiel as a full body character in a collaboration with Collective Studio. Stylized to fit their sculpting style. I did a few tutorials painting this scary jester, last year as well. Featuring few more overlapping layers usages and underpainting choices. Check them out here:
Our ideas and goals, with teaching, is to unlock your creativity. Help you build up in story telling, color composition, harmonizing, stylizing and other painting opportunities that may come out from your miniature projects.
Both Marko MiladinoviΔ and I hope you will enjoy, new bust and new lesson, and until the next one,
Nicest Regards, Aleksandra Cvetanovski
