PANPC 2.0.8 Released!

New version of PANPC uploaded and now available on the GreslinGames Discord.

From almost the start, I've been asked about when I planned to start implementing bot AI in PANPC. Truth is, I never really planned to do it, because most of them are fairly slow and dumb and the vanilla AI for those bots are just fine as it is.

One major exception to that are Sentry Bots. These guys aren't slow, and they shouldn't be dumb: they exist, basically, to hard core suppress everyone in the area, force them all to cover and keep them there until they die. So that is now exactly what they do. My plan is to use the new sentry bot AI system as a general platform for other possible bot systems. 

The other major change in 2.0.8 is how PANPC handles weather visibility. If the current (vanilla) weather system is foggy or snowy, everyone's scan range drops severely and the PANPC AIs are dramatically less likely to acquire targets except at very close range. This in turn allows the player to use low visibility weather as a form of cover, without worrying that other NPCs can miraculously target at long distances when no one else can see beyond three feet into a snow whiteout.

I implemented this weather visibility system specifically for FROST, and it will require the PANPC-FROST patch to fully use with FROST weather systems. I should have that new version of the FROST patch available in the next day or so.

Other weather mods will probably require similar patches, but as long as your weather configuration is roughly comparable to the vanilla system, you should be okay.
