I'm new here,I might missed out before,but do we know how the schedule is for Vinland saga? Is it gonna be once a week? Or there r times that could be 2 eps in a week? I'm excited for u guys to continue even FURTHER into Vinland saga. Love this show so much. You guys reaction to the show since ep 1 have been enjoyable,it's evident u two paid attention really well to the characters,their motivation,the parallel n etc.

2025-06-01 12:55:30 +0000 UTCMy favorite parallel between Thorfinn and Ask is the death of ask's dad and almost himself. Ask sees a lot of himself in Thorfinn. A couple of episodes ago Thorfinn tried to kill Ask in his sleep. Ask was awake already knowing that this could potentially happen because that was the same thing he did to his own dad. In that moment, it was a mental test for himself to see if Thorfinn would turn into another version of Ask ( if Thorfinn went through with the kill ) or more like his father in learning to go past this act of revenge. Ask was hoping for both options in a sense but was leaning towards more of Thorfinn becoming someone beyond what Ask became and not killing him.

The sad thing is, Thorfinn cannot allow himself to listen to Askeladd's advice because if Askeladd is right, that means Thorfinn wasted most of his life on a pointless revenge mission and let himself become an angry and bitter shell of a person. I think that's what he is beginning to realize at the end, that all the suffering and pain might have been for nothing. Askeladd's backstory is very fitting for his character and the parallels to Thorfinn are delightful. Askeladd really does see himself in Thorfinn but he gets disappointed in him constantly because Thorfinn was never able to take the step that he took all those years ago. One interesting thing at the end: Askeladd spent the entire episode talking about how he hated all Vikings and that they were "without beauty". When Canute asked "Why do you not want to be king yourself", Askeladd says he is "just a Viking". It paints a clear picture of Askeladd's self hatred for becoming just like his father. A man who perpetuates violence, a man without beauty.

2025-05-31 19:30:33 +0000 UTCHIGHLY recommend the anime “86 Eighty-Six)”!!!! Nothin but a masterpiece and up your guys alley. Currently 2 seasons with no word for more yet. I’m sure others would agree too. The guy who did AOT’s OSTs also did “86 Eighty-Six” and people also compare the show a little bit to AOT. Much like AOT you’ll wanna pay attention closely. Not a single bad episode! Nonetheless as always love the reactions and can’t wait for more!!!
