2025-05-12 04:09:17 +0000 UTCVinland Saga is a seinen, so it definitely has more to do about philosophy, character development, emotional heartstrings than it does with action. So, people walk into Vinland Saga thinking since it is about Vikings it is going to be a lot of action, and while it does have anime logic type of fights and some constant fighting, it is not the same as a shounen like Naruto or One Piece where the fighting is the main draw and they have emotional things because of it. The emotion and thought behind the growth of the characters or the world is the main thing with Seinen. That's why I personally prefer it over Shonen. Where things like this or 86 are my bread and butter shows.
