I love how we start seeing Stolas develop. He quickly became one of my favorite characters because he does have a few sides and as we see more it makes sense how they all interact as a complete person. And I just loved the scene when he's carrying Octavia and the imp jumps out at him. He's done with the fantasy, back to the real world, and it's always cool when he uses his magic.

Right now it's mostly just jokes about this kind of stuff, but even this early we gets hints of the deeper levels to the characters, especially Stolas. He's such a good dad! He truly does love his daughter and is trying his best... even if he's a bit oblivious at times. Also, they did a great job at making Octavia not just come off as a generic moody teenager, you really get where her issues are coming from and that she has good reason to be as withdrawn as she is. Yeah, this show is just, well... a hell of a good time!

2023-12-10 22:28:49 +0000 UTCHelluva Boss (And by extension Hazbin Hotel) is a really great and deep show once you get past the continuous mature jokes and swearing. Some people think the show is being crass for the sake of being crass, but honestly when you re-frame your thinking to "These are beings born in hell and belong there by nature" a lot of the jokes and mannerisms you overlook because its their normal. They exist in a society that's run by the things we humans are being punished for doing. Ergo they're all going to rub you the wrong way. But morally bad does not mean they're badly written so I'm really glad you're giving this show a chance!
