Looking back onto this now that you are done, I always find that this is an act of good faith from Eren. He, did this as a form of closure for both Zeke and Grisha. Where he allowed them both to understand one another and actually feel the love that they actually both had for each other. It is both sad and touching at the same time. That they are separated by misunderstandings and the world they are born to. Yet, in the end, Eren actually gave them a means to have this moment in time even if a short one in order for them to understand that they did have deep affections for one another and that they can understand each other's mistakes.

2024-10-10 09:20:46 +0000 UTCthe concept of grisha being able to "see" zeke is SO complicated but also somehow so freaking clean and beautiful??? What an insane piece of writing. I think what's so crazy about it is grisha wouldn't have been able to see any of eren's memories of doing this Christmas Carol shit if Zeke hadn't pulled him into it, so really Zeke enabled Eren to influence Grisha to kill the royal family. ~~~JUST NUTS~~~

2024-10-10 00:31:20 +0000 UTCEren has known since he kissed Historia’s hand. I think to see these things as Eren’s actions/choices in the way we normally think of them isn’t quite sufficient. I think the reason we get Frieda going all Founding blue eyes talking about paying for their crimes, is to highlight the moment when Eren pushes Grisha. It’s the Titan within. And now the weird bit, because Eren is remembering Grisha who’s remembering Eren, both Grisha and Eren are experiencing the urge to do what has already been decided. That’s why we get the last line that Krueger said to Grisha repeated by Eren here. “Aren’t you the one who started this story?” Another way to see it is, don’t pretend you didn’t come here to do this. Don’t lie about what you did and try to convince yourself otherwise. It’s all an allegory for personal and intergenerational trauma.

Isayama had already written it so brilliantly, and then d show is able to somehow even elevate that (credits to d directors and d whole crew). Also, I haven't watched any other series dat has a soundtrack with such a large no. of awesome songs/OSTs along with the huge variety of genre it offers.

2024-10-10 00:01:22 +0000 UTCRewatching is 100% worth it, it's almost like a different show because you'll pick up on subtle stuff you couldn't have noticed on the first watch.Also, the dub is really good - I've watched both dub and sub, Erwin's English voice actor is a fan of the source material and worked on the English version of the dialogue.

2024-10-09 23:33:58 +0000 UTCHe didn't directly influence kruger. but he did allow him to see memories of the future from his perspective. which is why he says the line "save armin and mikasa" followed by "whose memories are those" in S3E20. Meaning in a way, he was influencing from a distance. Eren also quotes these lines to his father which is likely why he chose to listen to eren. "didnt you start this story" etc etc. direct quotes from the owl. meaning they both had each-others memories. Grisha also quoted the owl when he gave the founding titan to eren. meaning they all shared the same sentiments through the attack titan and the founding titan. You have to take into account that he holds the attack titan which can glimpse into the future AND the founding titan. Eren did not always know - it was the interaction with historia at the end of season 3 that allowed him to learn of his own future.

This episode has been known to melt brains". 😂 Also when I finished watching AoT for the first time I felt that no other show could satisfy me like AoT did story wise. Everything else just felt contrived, basic and grey compared to AoT's level of story telling. It truly is a hard act to follow. P.S. Just an idea. If you girl's want to have fun re-watching this show again maybe you can get your parents to watch it with you both? That would make for some cool react content. Especially if they make it as far as this episode. Just bring a bucket for when their brains get melted.

He is sending memories back to Grisha; since he can see Grisha's memories, he can access his own future memories. Just a thing to keep in mind If you are ever confused later on, Both Eren and Grisha can't see everything with the attack titan power. Also, Grisha is only able to see Zeke because Eren is looking at Zeke and sending those memories to Grisha at that point so he can view Zeke. Grisha is seeing him through Eren's eyes. That is also why Grisha never comments on Eren's appearance since he sees things from his POV.

So they are in Grisha's memories but Grisha can see them there from Eren's memories, it's a little complicated 😭

So for Eren it’s the “present” but for grisha it’s memories of the “future” which is the power of the attack titan. Which is also how he’s able to talk to grisha. Very confusing lol but love the reactions!
