In my humble opinion I think this show is the best "network" show ever made. Game of Thrones is my all time favorite show, but for this being a network show it is reined in a little bit to appease the network audience. The characters and story writing are all top notch. Watching it with you is the third time I've watched the series through. This show was also the reason I switched from solely watching you on Youtube to subscribing to your patreon. I have really enjoyed the insight you bring to the show and I am looking forward to continuing this journey with you.

the whole series has become one of my favourites already!

Root said it back in early season 3 that the Machine can only watch, it can't actually do anything. That is where she comes in. Root is the Machine's hands and feet. She is a true believer in the Machine so she is it's analog interface. She not only speaks for the Machine but acts upon it's will. She is in constant God Mode (to an extent). The Machine wanted her in the mental hospital so that she could have time to change her methods (methodology). The Machine doesn't want her to kill anyone, that's why she spared the therapist's and the government hitman's life. Finch taught the Machine to value human life.

Root is The Machines analog interface. We saw her get reassigned that in 3x1, with her own special nifty box. She’s a disciple. And she’s permanently in God mode, hence being able to shoot the Russians and being told about Lionels namesake. And The Machine knows about that because she doesn’t just access cctv cameras. She can process all information about you, about any and everything, as long as there’s a digital copy somewhere. Like with the Dr in 3x1, knowing all his test scores and about his internet history.

Zeudi Dickinson Defender

It’s not just video & audio that The Machine goes through, she goes through EVERYTHING about people, medical records, test scores, emails and texts, all your internet history. She demonstrated that with the Dr in 3x1. She’s a less murdery version of Project Insight, studying your past to predict your future.

This is one of my top episode. I love the short flash back of each character, as they deal with loss and grief. Howard the schemer, Reese the avenger, Shaw the perfectionist, Fusco redemption of an fallen cop.

The opening and closing scenes of this episode are probably in my top 5 favorite scenes of the series. I understand wanting Simmons to suffer, but some people just don't deserve to live. That end scene is one of the reasons I have a soft spot for Elias. Always happy to see Fusco get a win. Great episode. Great reaction

AminaLoves2Cats!

Root meant Elias. The Machine gave finch Simmons' number at the beginning of the episode, implying they needed to protect him. Root said "The machine didn't say Reese was the only one planning to kill Simmons" the scene then cuts to fusco picking up Simmons location, tricking us into thinking Fusco plans to kill him but ofcourse he takes him instead. Then Elias kills him in the end, as the Machine predicted. As for Root, the machine is telling her everything , so when she fires through the door, the machine is guiding her as to the direction to shoot, similar to how we saw at the end of s2. Having the machine talking to you is like having all of the cheatcodes on in a videogame. As for how the machine knows everything. There's a bit of suspension of disbelief due to the sci fi elements, but it's to be assumed that the machine has access to old footage of security footage as well as current footage, it can also access cameras on phones, computers, etc when ever it wants, same with recordings and microphones.

The Devil's Share- I absolutely love this episode so much!!! It's easily one of my favorites. Not just within this season, but throughout the entire show. Reese is absolutely phenomenal throughout this episode, as is Jim Caviezel. It's because of episodes like this one that I love him as an actor so much. Kevin Chapman as Lionel Fusco is absolutely fantastic throughout this episodes as well, especially in the end when he fights and just destroys Simmons. Absolutely brilliant!! A small part of me also can't help but cringe a little throughout this episode as well. Those of us who watches this show regularly, know and love Reese because he's a good man and a hero fighting to save as many lives as he can to make up for the sins of his past, even though he isn't the monster he believes himself to be. And yet... throughout this episode, we actually see the darkness in Reese as he seeks out vengeance against the real monsters responsible for Carter's death. And Reese is scary. However, he's just absolutely incredible throughout this episode and I absolutely love him. I feel absolutely heartbroken for Reese, because he's currently so lost. Also... Root is absolutely fantastic throughout this episode too, especially in the moment we see her take out the marshals guarding Alonzo Quinn with two guns in hand. Shaw's sentiment about her doing so being pretty hot... I completely agree. Amy Acker nails this role perfectly! I really love Finch and Shaw throughout this episode too. Especially as Finch seeks out Reese only to save his life. All of them are deeply concerned for Reese, which really shows how far their friendships and partnerships have grown from season one. I love that Finch will do whatever it takes to save Reese, and even though Reese has fallen down a darker path against his wishes for him, Finch's concern is still more for Reese. I love how Fusco is the one who finds Simmons in the end and fights him to get his own payback against Simmons for Carter. I love, love, love Fusco's speech about how Carter had been one of those who has saved him from being the corrupt cop he used to be before Reese enlisted him to work for him and Finch, and then Carter too. And I love that while Fusco wanted to kill Simmons, he fought through his hate for the man and arrested him instead. Brilliant! And of course... I absolutely love, love, love the very end between Elias and Simmons, as Elias talks about how he knows that Carter never really liked him, but that he liked her very much because she fought for justice and never allowed herself to become corrupt. And while I completely agree with you in regards to it being somewhat disappointing that Simmons doesn't get to rot in prison for all he has done like Carter would have wanted, I still really love that Elias has Simmons killed through his own right hand man... Anthony, also known as Scarface, for Carter and the others. This scene is incredible and it's the perfect ending for such a phenomenal episode like this one. Thank you so much again for your reaction, my friend!! This episode certainly feels quite different from all the rest of the episodes throughout this show, which allows for it to stand out among all the rest. And it's absolutely fabulous!!! I can't wait for many more reactions for Person of Interest to come!!! Until next time... Thank you!!! Sincerely, Heidi
