I was worried about how you'd react to this one because it's one of my least favorites in the whole series. Most fans feel sort of "meh" about it, but I'm glad you enjoyed it. As you accurately point out, it reminds one of episodes "Ice" and "Darkness Falls", especially the former. I among many others consider it a much poorer version of "Ice". But tastes differ, so it's pretty cool that you liked it. I have a friend who enjoys it, too.
