Person of Interest 1x23 Full Length + REACTION

Comments

I know I'm a few years late, but I wanted to chime in on 2 things you missed during your reaction. Firstly, we got more Machine-view of the episode's number "Turing" / Root than we normally do, which I assume is to draw attention to the fact that her "tracking box" thing is **yellow**, a color that had only been used this season for those aware of the Machine's existence, notably John & Harold. A subtle hint throughout the episode that she was special, if you knew where to look. They also dotted in little hints about her identity via the soundtrack - Root has her own theme which was used heavily in her debut in "Root Path", they also sneaked little bits of it in throughout this episode, until the final reveal and they go all in with it. I'll be honest, I've watched this episode at least 5 times, and I haven't noticed it until now. [[S2 Spoilers]] Season 2 retcons a bunch of "how the machine operates", including the categorization of people. If memory serves, Root reverts back to the standard white tracking box for the season (except when she's deemed a threat, in which case she gets the red box, again, per usual).

Firewall- Thank you so much for a fun and exciting reaction for season one's finale of Person of Interest!!! I love this episode so much. It's definitely another of my favorites. Granted... I do have a lot of favorites, which are: Cura Te Ipsum, Witness, Number Crunch, Super, Flesh and Blood, Many Happy Returns, No Good Deed, and lastly... Firewall too. However, they're all just so amazing for me. I love the overall storyline throughout this episode as Reese fights to save Caroline Turing from HR, while also trying to save himself from them and the FBI. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time Reese and Caroline were running and while Reese began to fight HR. Fabulous!! Also... I love how Carter and Fusco have finally come to realize they are both working for Reese and Finch. And I love seeing them come together in the end to save Reese from getting killed by HR once he gets Caroline to safety, thinking she will find Finch and that they'll be okay. However... in the end thanks to Zoe, we have the big reveal that Caroline is only an alias in which she creates so that she can lure Finch out into the open... all by hiring HR to kill her herself. I love that she turns out to be Root, who yes... we did learn the name she goes by in the end of the previous episode... Root Cause. Episode thirteen. I didn't expect this at all the first time I watched this episode, and I absolutely love this fabulous twist. And wow... I love her character a lot. She's delightfully twisted! :) I just love that Root hired HR to put a hit on herself in order to put her plan to finally meet Harold into action. I love how she compares her crazy decision to a trust fall exercise too, only adding to the fun and dark mystery she's continued to present us with as the show's viewers. Next... I really like that Zoe Morgan, the Fixer, was brought in by Finch to help them to discover who Caroline really is and why HR might want her dead. It is wonderful to have her back once again. And lastly... I love how Reese comes out into the streets and looks up at one of the security cameras as he then talks to the Machine, sternly asking it for help to save Finch. And then... the phone in front of Reese rings, and he answers it. I really love it and I can't wait for your reactions for season two!!! :) Thank you again so much, Greywolf! Your continued reactions as always, are so much fun and I really appreciate them. :) Until next time, my friend... Sincerely, Heidi

Happy that you weren't spoiled about root, since it's Amy Acker and she is seen on a lot of the promotional material for the show. We had Elias and now Root. For me the "real poi" starts now with the reveal of root in the season 1 finale. Mythology and world building will now get more prominent although the "case of the week" will never go away completely. Part of the charme. Funny you didn't talk about the very last scene of this episode and its huge implications. Reese talks to a public camera addressing the machine and "it" answers by making a call to him?

Finally, Root :)
