No, we do not. They are all evil degenerates that must be cast out of society by any means necessary.

The frontal lobes are involved in motor function, problem solving, spontaneity, memory, language, initiation, judgement, impulse control, and social and sexual behavior.
With regard to the younger offenders, I would be inclined to believe that they can be helped. The frontal lobe is the last part of the brain to mature, which isn’t until the age of 25.

We need to distinguish between pedophilia, hebephilia, ephebophilia, and
predators. The first three are way more common than we would like to think, most of them are otherwise normal people who spend their lives repressing it.
For the rest, there is no cure.
Pedophilia
Attraction to pre-pubescent children.
Hebephilia
Attraction to pubescent children who are in early adolescence. Aged 11-14.
Ephebophilia
the primary sexual interest in later adolescents, typically ages 15–19.

Please don't ever compare homosexuality to pedophilia. A better example would be bestiality.

personally, i do not believe predators can be rehabilitated. pedophiles are sexually attracted to children, it’s a preference they have (not a preference you should have at all), you cant change a person’s preference. homosexual men have a preference for the male gender, and «homotherapy» has not worked. it’s maybe not the best example, but my point is that no therapy can change preference.

Porn is such a interesting topic from an academic stand point and while many studies exist, no group or major institutions talk about the harm it causes to older men and children alike. Most kids are like 11 when they see porn for the first time and it really causes a lot of problems. Most of these predators are just porn addicts who have taken it too far. American society needs to take a long hard look (no pun intended) at the sexualization of children and the general normalization of sex and porn in society.

Just curious, are you talking about porn and masturbation for predators or everyone in general? I think it all depends on the person. When I was in fourth grade, I remember going to my friend's house and we would sneak to his grandfather's old house next door. He had died years ago and had an entire closet filled to the brim with old playboy mags. I wouldn't say it polluted my mind or anything, we were curious more than anything. Sure, it can escalate and grow out of control to the point it's a problem, but so can everything when it's not in moderation. I definitely think with predators it becomes an addiction that most often grows out of control and continues to escalate. Their minds are wired differently.

I think some people who are abuse kids but aren't paedophiles can also be sadists/abusive in general. For example, an abusive father who enjoys making everyone around him miserable and abuses everyone in his family escalates his abuse to sexual assault as another way of causing hurt and pain and just being destructive. I've seen it happen.

This was extremely interesting. I’ve been thinking about the topic of rehabilitation for paedophiles and, honestly, I don’t think it’s possible. There are individuals who can become productive members of society but in terms of getting rid of those feelings, it just doesn’t sound realistic. Sexual attraction (whether normal or deviant) isn’t something you can change, so the only possible solution would be to teach these people how to control themselves. Now, I don’t know how that would happen as I’m not a psychologist. Although, just to throw my five cents into the mix, I’d suggest castration (it would at least alleviate the sexual desires).
Another thing I found interesting was the interview with the ”ex”-paedophile/offender. While I do definitely think that this individual is one, I have read about certain people who are child molesters/rapists who would not be classified as paedophiles. If I remember correctly, it had something to do with the attraction to vulnerability or weakness. So, some individuals will take advantage of the weakest in society (that being children and the eldery, possibly disabled people as well). And for those people, the age isn’t a factor. That’s why quite often, if an individual has raped an elderly person, it should not be a surprise if they end up attacking a child as well. This is all just what I’ve read and seen. Someone experienced in this field might have a more educated response.
Love and admire your work. Your content is important and helps a lot of people. Thank you.

In my opinion porn and masterbation can lead to worse and worse porn until it bleeds into teens and kids and it perverts the human mind and most of the time they don't even know what is causing it. If more people knew about the risk of porn before they started or even at an early age would cut down on perversion, evil and child predation. I think if someone were to also completely cut masterbation out of their life they could change over a long period of time but could also snap back at any moment if it's too deep. Harming animals is the most horrific thing in my opinion but I do also know young kids can grow out of that completely if it's mild abuse.

In my personal experience with my father as a predator, now a level 2 sex offender, all of this rang true. I have hope for some people that they could be rehabilitated but definitely not always possible. My father victimized one female that he was charged for but had sent messages asking for sex from my sisters and I childhood friends as well (that’s just what we know about) and like you said the victims either don’t feel comfortable pressing charges or in the case of the child pornography charge against him, he had chosen his student to groom at an alternative school he taught at, a troubled 15 year old girl who lived in a project and who’s father died in a drug deal. he was very manipulative about it. he even had me at 16 become friends with her so that he could claim “oh well she and my daughter were just friends” there were sleepovers and trips and paid cell phones, she called him “dad” and me her “sister”. Learning at 20 years old that while that was happening and I was trusting him and not wanting to see the truth that he was also paying her for porn shattered a lot of perceptions of men and the world for me as a young woman. The girl who he victimized I contacted during the investigation and she was willing to testify against him but the investigator knew there was a warrant for her arrest so warned if she came to court she would go to jail herself. There was nothing they could do for her for safety because of the “nature of her charges” we tried. My father chose a victim that would go to jail if she spoke, so like you said very accurately he got off on a plea deal of served time for just 90 days and was on a 6 month probation. Since then he’s contacted my entire family with a suicide note saying how sorry he is that after all the good he’s done in his life his family just turned their backs on him and blah blah poor me pity me. My point in this is that people who are predators are a lot of the time a lot more than that. They are sick for many things and hope for them I think is something that can only be addressed case by case. Even with therapy in prison and things like that , people can only change when the know they are sick and they want to change. Some people are too far gone to even see it.

Focus on a subject for a few minutes called "cognitive dissonance" it's what you may have felt earlier in life, when you talk about being "awkward". It's thinking one way, and acting another and it causes bad tendencies if it's goes under the radar.. just something interesting i just learned

Something I've noticed with Zoophiles is that they try to justify that animals can consent, that they have a deeper bond to animals than most people. Of course this is bullshit but that goes to show that there's a whole ideology behind this stuff that people might be vulnerable to. Do you think there's a similar thing going on with ped0's or predators?

In a way the predators that know what they're doing to the child's psyche and still proceed are worse than the dumbfucks that are clueless about it. I wonder if some would still go on their predatory ways if they were to get an extensive explanation on why children can't consent in the first place. It's a complicated issue but for some I believe they really only see it as the "law" and deem their own acts "natural".

If prisons were actually run like rehabilitation centers, it’d be fair to say that predators could be rehabilitated, but I think that since they are not centered around the needs of the inmates as we speak, I don’t think they can be helped by just wasting their time in a cell.

I don’t think that the way they feel about kids would ever go away but I’m sure they can be stopped from acting on them through therapy and counseling.

I feel like unless they want to be helped they won't be rehabilitated. My thinking is the ones who spent time in prison and got out don't repeat offend because they don't want to lose their freedom again.

I guess it really depends on the predator. I feel like some predators have a chance at living a somewhat "normal" life. I feel like it depends on how early they started fantasizing about having sex with a minor/child. In my opinion I feel like if they started early in life, having thoughts and fantasies they have already gone way to far down the rabbit hole and there is no chance at getting them help. Because it has already imprinted on there brain that they like having sex with a younger person. As opposed to a predator who maybe started when they were maybe in there early 20s, like maybe they gave into there impulse one time and they felt instant regret. It does not excuse the crime, because it's still disgusting and heinous. But maybe they are more likely to not reoffend because they felt remorse. I feel like if predators are able to feel remorse and understand what they have done to the victim, they may have a chance to never hurt anyone again. It still does not take away what they did and I hope they live with that pain for the rest of their lives. But I don't know I am not a doctor, just simply my opinion. Years ago when I was in middle school/Highschool I had one of my closest friends assault me. They made me feel guilty if I didnt want to perform different things on him. Later on in life saw on the news he got arrested in a child porn sting. I felt a sense of relief and felt empowered. I'm 26 now and feel like I can live my life 100 percent now without even thinking of the past! But ... I digress, rant over!

Well if you are born pedo, then it is QUITE like a sexuel orientation. You don't choose to be born a pedo, but you do choose to rape children or not. Let's say that pedos can be mindful and not touch children. There is a huge gap between some guy watching his daily loli hentai and the guy raping children daily.

Here in Alaska, if you're a registered sex offender you can still live near a school if you own the home. In my neighborhood, there was a man who was charged TWICE with the Sexual Assault of a Minor who lives across from the elementary school. I know this because when we moved into our area, I checked who was registered.
One day this man was talking to a kid just down from the school crosswalk, the kid was walking towards the man standing by the side of his house, I stopped my car in the middle of the road and called the kid back, told the crossguard. Anyway, when called the police department - they assured me the police would follow up, but the man owns the home and allowed to live there. The school principal put out a warning in a school email.
So to your point - After this guy being charged twice, why is he talking a kid up his driveway when he has no business unless he plans to re-offend.
One more thing - To set the record because not everyone who was abused as a kid is likely to be a potential offender, which upsets me when that idea is generalized. I'm a survivor of CSA and connected to many other men of support groups, I'd say as survivors we're more hypervigilant about protecting our kids and ourselves - I don't know any survivors who are abusers. I found your YouTube and now this Patreon... Because busting these assholes is cathartic, but also helps me educate my daughter and son about preditors.
Great episode and thank you.

Predators are felons. Felonies the labels we attach to the highest order of crimes in which once one commits it, not only were the people involved harmed, but the damage to society is irreparable and will linger forever, permanently tarnishing our feeling of safety as part of a collective civil society. Thus, it comes as no surprise that these kinds of acts have traditionally resulted in capital punishment, sending the clear message that these people, who have violated the fundamental values of a civilized society, are dead to that society.
That's not to say we don't overapply the label of "felony" but I don't think there's much for debate in the case of a child predator.
Ethically, I see no reason to forgive these people. But it's simply not rational to spend tax dollars forever imprisoning them or killing them when they ought to work and provide value to society like the rest of us.
What these people should seek after "doing their time" is not forgiveness, but atonement. I think it's too late for forgiveness by society; but perhaps they'll have better luck with the divine sort of forgiveness.

Have you heard of that study by a certain Dr. Cantor about how "pedophiles are born not made"? He says that apparently pedos can not be changed despite any kind of treatment, which in my opinion may be true but also problematic cause that means we have to keep an eye on them constantly so they dont get the opportunity to harn children.

Your small comedic relief during some of the more serious issues, is really comforting to listen to imo. I'm a recovering addict, and for me, I 100% do not believe pedos can be rehabilitated. Even with drugs in America, the rehab system only has around a 1% success rate.
Keep up your great work Zach! I'll always support you, as long as you keep safe! Missing children in America is something that has been keeping me up at night for years, and it's nice to see someone like you stepping up and atleast trying to get anyone he possibly can. The children that go missing in America is over half a million annually, a tremendous amount of children missing than any other country. Something is going on, and I feel like you have the tools to dig deeper into this haunting conflict. I'm not saying there is a grand conspiracy, but the system is somehow slipping these predators through the cracks, while the actual victims see no justice at all.
