Not at all, the implication, and I say implication knowing what happens later is in this universe Nina is a medium and OA can access that ability. I mean it's explicitly stated in this episode.. It's not the octopus doing the work - although it's clearly they're also stating that the octopus is high intelligence, or they all are; without Nina it's just an octopus.

She spoke Russian until she was 8 or so in the other reality, so maybe it came back, or some of Nina was seeping in. I think she was drinking White Russians. I think that Old Knight mentioned that OA's brother was sent to every dimension to protect her. I assume he means the P.I., but who would he have been in Prairie's world? Still confused, lol.
