Hey there 👹

For this script post, I wanted to highlight Cal and Norman's first argument/fight because tension and its kinda dorky 😂

I mean, they're both kinda yelling at each other, but over stupid shit mostly cuz Norman's insecurities show when he lashes out in fits of anger/frustration. These episodes of anger tend to happen whenever he's belittled or made to feel inferior (see chapter 1 page 19 for reference of this). And before you ask: yes, he does have an inferiority complex. It'll be part of his character development as his relationship with Cal evolves.

I also love this scene because Cal is literally showing honesty, even though it's poorly timed. It's one of many instances that our demon royal boi is a good boi at heart. He's just misunderstood UwU ❤️🔥

Part of the reason I wrote this scene was I needed something to pull these two apart. I feel like if the entire story was just them fucking or kissing it would get boring–mostly just because I enjoy stories with tension and subplots, not because I think sex is boring or whatever. I just like seeing characters struggle and overcome those struggles. I think it gives the characters more substance and opens up the story to a thousand different possibilities for conflict resolution. It also makes the story easier to write an unpredictable ending while still giving the characters due diligence in their development and their individual story arcs.

I also LOVE shattered romance. Shakespearean tragedy is my all time favorite trope. It's just so good. It robs you of the happily ever after and throws you a bone that says "Reality SUCKS" 😂 I make no promises I won't do something like this, but I can guarantee you'll love how this story ends. I wrote that part first ;)
