Hey friends!
So for this comic script post, I asked on discord what script pages you guys wanted to see and a majority of people said they wanted to see the interactions with Bel and Cal. For the next couple of months I'll be covering those pages.
The first page that I wanted to share was page 50. I LOVE how Daryl took my script and made something above and beyond what I had imagined. First, the fact that he made the art take up the entire page was a great choice – I love the absence of borders and lack of individual panels. Second, Bel's expressions have consistently amazed me. I originally had Bel in my mind as this angsty and violent brother that was mostly jealous of Cal, but Daryl's additions to Bel's character have almost made him into this 'mad villain' character. I'm so excited to see more of him in future chapters.
Another thing I love about this page is that it really sets up Cal's character development. Why is he sentimental towards humans? Why isn't he like his siblings, especially Bel? Why is he so kind? These are all questions I wanted to instill in the story's readers because they're great hooks for getting people invested in Cal as a person. I'm just so happy with how it turned out!
