Hi there! I'm Jess Campbell, and I'm the art director here at Bellular Studios! I'm just dropping in to tell you about a couple of upcoming changes as to how we handle the loot tier, now that we're finally catching up with distribution. Absolutely nothing is changing about what we're making, we're just changing the way we talk to you about it!
From here on out, we're going to be making 3 posts a month:
1. Our first post is going to be a teaser, where we show you some WIPs and talk a bit about our ideas before the start of the month, so yous know what you're in for!
2. The second post will be the official announcement, where we reveal the final art you're going to receive.
3. And finally, the third post will just be a little update, where we let you know when the packages are shipping from the distributor, and you can expect them to start arriving.
My team and I have been creating art for you all since Michael started the patreon in 2018.
As the art director, I help with ideas, and this year I'm drawing the class cards! Ethan McClean is our environment artist, and paints all of our lovely backgrounds for the lore cards; and Katie Noble is our creature artist, who has been designing our pins!
This year we wanted to get stuck into suggesting unique narratives and worlds in the art, it was a really fun and engaging way to come up with ideas! We enlisted writers Thomas Hislop and Eric Rivers to help write stories to accompany and inspire the art.
The first 3 months' art followed 3 characters teaming up to fight a kraken, and the next 3, the batch we're currently making, are exploring the attempts of 3 more characters to soothe a dragon. As huge lovers of fantasy, we've been taking inspiration from WoW and FFxiv, as well as Tolkien, The Witcher, and our favourite folklore. We're really proud of what we've made for you this year so far, and we're so excited for you to see what else we're going to make.
In fact, we're going to be posting the reveal for the May Loot Tier later today! That's what the teaser above is for!
Finally, I'd like to sign off with a huge THANK YOU!! To anyone who's ever supported or taken interest in what we do, it's only because of that support and interest that we've all been able to commit full time to our dream jobs of making games and stories for people who have all the same loves of myths and legends and big ole honkin neat lore stuff as we do. Thank you <3
-Jess
PS. If anyone has any questions at all, shoot me a message on here, or on the discord, and I'll try my best to get back to you ASAP!
