Microsoft aren't reducing the Xbox Store revenue cut after all

Following last week's news that Microsoft would be reducing their revenue share cut on the Microsoft Store from 30% to 12% there was some belief that Microsoft would be making a similar adjustment to the Xbox marketplace. Microsoft have since confirmed that this will not be the case.

• Microsoft didn't elaborate on whether this decision was a genuine change of plans of whether their own documentation had gotten their intentions wrong, but a reduction of the console cut would be unheard of in that space. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo each operate their respective marketplaces with the same industry-standard 30% cut, so Microsoft changing that now would break the whole thing wide open.

Nintendo aren't commenting on recent Switch Pro rumours

Switch Pro rumours have been swirling around for months but the latest batch comes courtesy of Nikkei, who recently reported that Nintendo had asked their production partners to increase Switch production to 30m units. This would be a massive increase for a console now in its fifth year, and has lead to speculation that Nintendo are gearing up for something bigger.

• Nintendo are keeping quiet about the rumours for now - a spokesperson confirmed to Nikkei that "There is nothing we can tell you about production numbers and higher-end models." It'll be interesting to see if anything becomes of these rumours in the end, though no matter how much they talk about the Switch only be part way through its lifespan, Nintendo are bound to be looking to the future.

Six whole seconds of Elden Ring footage leaks

This latest clip appears to have originated on 4chan before doing the rounds on social media shows a minuscule amount of off-screen gameplay complete with the same Bandai Namco watermark from an earlier leak back in March. This new footage could be part of the same leak, which at the time was said to be about a year old.

• Elden Ring hasn't been seen since it was announced back in E3 2019 but any little scrap of information is enough to set the community ablaze. It was thought that a reveal was imminent when that footage leaked in March but no such luck - though FromSoftware's parent company Kadokawa did hint that it could release before the end of the financial year.

Konami pull out of E3 2021

Konami made the announcement via Twitter, confirming that they won't be attending this year's all-digital showcase due to non-specific "timing issues." However, Konami also claimed that they have "a number of key projects" currently in the works and will provide more information on down the line.

• Konami were one of the first companies confirmed during E3's initial partner showcase announcement so their withdrawal is a bit of a surprise - although not as much as the suggestion that they're actually making some games. It'll be interesting to see what they're up to, and how many of those new Silent Hill rumours are true.
