The Killzone website has officially been "retired"
An official notice posted to the website informed fans that, going forward, the website will instead redirect visitors to the official PlayStation website. The notice also thanks fans for years of "enthusiasm and support" in a way that suggests we may never hear from Killzone again.
- Killzone used to be one of PlayStation's flagship franchises though, despite the fact that the series has had six outings since it debuted in 2004, its most recent instalment was PS4 launch title Killzone: Shadow Fall. With developer Guerrilla Games now busy with the Horizon games, could this really be the end of Killzone?
Awesome Games Done Quick tops $2.75m raised for charity
It took a while to nail down a final total for the amount raised thanks to money continuing to trickle in after the fact, but the official ACDQ Twitter announced that the speedrunning-fuelled event raised an enormous $2,758,847 for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
- Awesome Games Done Quick was entirely online this year for obvious reasons and you can view every run via the official event website. Another show is scheduled for later this year, but dates are still to be confirmed.
Scoot Pilgrim vs The World: The Game is getting a neat physical edition
Limited Run Games will be taking preorders for a PS4 and Nintendo Switch physical edition of the comic book beat 'em up over a six week period beginning on January 15th - this will be the first time the game has been available physically.
- In terms of pricing, the standard edition is $3499, the classic edition $54.99, and the K.O edition a heft $139.99. It'll be great to see the game back after it was mysteriously delisted from sale in 2014.
That black PlayStation 5 sale really didn't go so well, orders cancelled due to threats
Third-party company SUP3R5 released a limited run of 300 PS2-themed PS5 consoles over the weekend. The special consoles, priced at $649, sold out in less than 20 minutes - but that was just the start of the drama.
- Some customers reported being charged for their order without receiving confirmation that it even went through, while SUP3R5 waged war against numerous wild eBay listings. In the end, the SUP3R5 team released a statement that they had received "credible threats to their safety" and as such would be cancelling all orders. Yeesh.
