Bahamut - The Sphinx Queen

Hey guys, coming at you with another art post today! MWTX drew Bahamut and she came out just like in my head :D

Bahamut is a relatively minor character in the scheme of things. The reason she exists at all is because during Cryopod Classic, I didn't know what I was doing, so I decided to add a big epic scene where Jason gets to outwit a sphinx. That's about it.

In Refresh, she only exists onscreen for all of three to five parts, but her impact across the rest of chapters 1 and 2 is more noticeable. After all, Kar kills Bahamut and takes her power for himself, making himself the new Sphinx. Additionally, Kar's military forces include several other key players in humanity's war against the demons, including Phoebe, Neil Adams, and other former captives who served under Bahamut's mind control.

Simply put, Bahamut was a one-note villain in Cryopod Classic who served little to no purpose to the story or its worldbuilding. In Refresh, she is at least something of an important character, and so getting art drawn up for her seemed the respectable thing to do.

In any case, here are the WIP drawings, along with some fun alternate art MWTX drew!

MWTX's original Bahamut design gave her more transparent, see-through clothes and a different hand position. However, since I'm terrified of furries, we had to quickly cut down the sexy factor just a little bit haha

Additionally, her hand position was changed to allow her to hold the hourglass she uses during her riddle scenes.

Basically the full drawing, but with some details missing.

One little detail readers might miss are the three Archangel rings on her fingers. Bahamut wears the rings in the part, so I wanted to ensure they were on her hand in the drawing.

I'm not 100% on who we'll draw next. I'm thinking Jason, Phoebe, and Daisy. We will see!
