Raphael - The Archangel of Wisdom

UPDATE FOR OCTOBER 22ND: Big fixes to Raphael! He looks a bunch better after I had MWTX tweak and fix him a bunch!

Welcome, everyone, to the artwork for Raphael, the eldest Archangel, and the one with the most secrets.

Raphael is technically the oldest angel in existence, but in the span of Eons, he's actually quite close to Gabriel and Michael's age, along with all the other purebloods. Despite this, his body and face are dramatically older, perhaps because of all the stress he's endured in his life.

Due to the events of the Titan and Dragon Wars, the Titans agreed to a ceasefire and peace with the Angels. Part of the agreement was that everyone on both sides would have to undergo mind-wipes. However, for some reason, Raphael was not included in that agreement. He alone was designated as the one person allowed to remember the events that transpired in the past.

Why?

Why was Raphael allowed to remember when his brothers and sisters were not? What terrible events occurred in the past that would make his family unworthy of such memories, while he alone was the sole exception?

Only Raphael knows. Perhaps as a result of the history contained in his mind, Raphael does everything in his power to suppress the thoughts of his lost past and how he alone is responsible for keeping a dark secret hidden from his entire family.

Raphael is not a warmonger. He will do anything to avert death and destruction if possible, but deep inside this old man's heart, a terrible rage lurks.

Don't make him angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry.

This was an early draft we thought was almost good enough to release. However, I didn't like the fact the Moon was in the sky. There were other issues too, which you'll find if you look hard enough. This image received many edits and led into the next one below.

After removing the moon and the stars, changing a bunch of other things, I realized the image had a bunch of flaws remaining. I liked how the Moon looked, but I wanted it to be something else, so we added the half-planet in the sky instead. What planet is it? Who knows! It's Tarus II or somethin'!

The final version isn't quite perfect, but it's pretty damn good and I'm glad MWTX made it. Raphael looks awesome!
