The future of Cryopod's Art

Hey guys, this is an update post since I didn't get to make any art posts this month.

Firstly, MWTX just finished another bloody brilliant piece of artwork! Check it out!

This piece of artwork was requested by Truffletop, one of Cryopod's longtime supporters. He's in the $50+ cryopod supporter category.

As you guys may have noticed, my Patreon has two new art roles on the right side of the main page. One is for $25 a month, the other is for $50 a month. They are limited so I don't burn MWTX out, but my eventual goal is to get lots of art up and running on a consistent basis, hopefully a new piece every couple of days.

I managed to get MWTX my old gaming laptop toward the end of last month, and then I purchased him an art tablet for $75 off Amazon (A Huion if anyone is curious) which still has a week or so before he receives it.

I believe in MWTX. I've never liked an artist's work as much as I do his. Unfortunately, the guy lives in Venezuela, a brutal dictatorship with very little food or etc available. Internet is scarce, the power grid is spotty, and MWTX had his entire life ruined a few months ago when a gang of thugs broke into his house and stole everything he owned. He used to be a professional artist, but he can't get employment anywhere now.

Here are my short and longterm goals for Cryopod's art moving forward.

Short term: Get the following characters drawn up, in order of appearance.

Gabriel, Raphael, Michael, Uriel...

Amelia (Younger and Older)

Hope, Neil, other humans

Relevant monsters

Improve existing art for characters that I'm unsatisfied with (Uzziel, for example, along with Belial and a few others)

Long term goals:

Draw up important scenes from Cryopod.

Get future characters drawn in advance (Marie, Beatrix, etc...)

After those are done, my goal is to start working on Patreon commissions. I want people to be able to request art of their favorite characters and scenes. Even now, people can start early. Once MWTX finally gets his art tablet, his speed should increase dramatically, plus he'll be more comfortable drawing as well. His current process is to draw on paper, then scan it to the computer, edit in photoshop, and finish up digitally. With an art tablet, he can do ALL the work digitally and that will allow him to make much higher quality artwork, much faster. If you think the Beelzebub and Agares artwork above is good, wait until you see what this guy can do once he has lots of character references to work with.

Things aren't going as fast as I'd like, it's true. Three months ago I had $750 in Patreon money, now it's lower than $700. Since my rent and necessary expenses are $385, that puts me in a financial squeeze the lower the cash goes. I want desperately to give MWTX the money he needs to survive. Even $100 a month takes a lot out of me, but it helps him a lot.

I'm planning to do a big update post when Refresh hits part 100, so I can bring back the Cryopodders who left. With luck, I can rejuvenate the readerbase and show people they have been missing out!

My goal after that is to bring in other new readers, possibly from places like topwebfiction.com.

I have plans, but unfortunately, they take time. All I can do is ask for patience while I move the pieces into place.

If anyone wants to help out MWTX, why not pledge at the $25 a month tier? If you're already pledged (A few people are and haven't moved their pledges to the new tier yet) then do so, and I'll be able to add you guys to the official tally on a monthly basis!

Thanks for reading guys. Sorry things take so long and Klok is slow.
