Sony offer fix for PS5 download queue bug
The issue, which a number of PS5 users have reported encountering since launch, was previously only fixed with a full factory reset - which of course left players having to reinstall all their software.
- Late last week the official PlayStation Support Twitter account posted a new workaround that doesn't require the reset - advising affected players to boot their consoles in safe modes before rebuilding their databases. That should sort the issue.
Last Oasis is back
Season 2 of the embattled MMO is live now, with developers Monkey Crew penning a lengthy Steam Community post outlining all the new stuff - which basically amounts to a "complete overhaul" of season one.
- Last Oasis first released into Steam Early Access back in March and quickly shot to the top of the best-sellers charts - but a suite of server issues eventually saw the game collapse in on itself and be taken offline entirely. Refunds were offered at the time but some fans were happy to stick around - have they been rewarded?
Jim Ryan would also like an update on Bethesda's possible Microsoft exclusivity
Whether upcoming Bethesda titles like Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI will be exclusive to Xbox platforms has been a big question since Microsoft's $7.5bn acquisition of ZeniMax - a question Sony would very much like an answer to.
- Speaking to Russian news site TASS, the PlayStation boss stated simply that they'll have to "wait and see what happens" regarding the possible exclusivity before taking a dig at Microsoft's acquisition strategy - stating that PlayStation prefer to focus on "really steady, slow, but constant organic growth."
Cyberpunk 2077 retail copies appear in the wild
It looks like a good few copies of the upcoming RPG have found their way into players' hands ahead of the official December 10th release date - so tread very carefully online because there will no doubt be spoilers about.
- A number of streams and videos of the game have already appeared, although they were also quickly removed by CD Projekt Red. There's still a few weeks to go until launch, though, so things may be pretty iffy for a while.
Dead Cells is getting a surprise update next month
Developer Motion Twin have announced a special holiday update "full of little stocking fillers to keep [players] entertained for a bit longer" - including a new weapon, mob, lore room, and more.
- The updated is scheduled to launch in "mid-December" but the developers are also teasing some addition "bigger news" to be revealed within the "next couple of months." Could there be more DLC on the cards? Or even a sequel?
That's everything for today, friends - join us back here tomorrow for another batch of daily news!
