A Quick Note: YouTube VS Bellular
Added 2019-01-26 21:04:12 +0000 UTCWell this is a strange one! I currently have 3 videos that I can’t publish because of YouTube. The good news is that they’ll all made, but the bad news is YouTube. From a creator standpoint, they’ve really dropped the ball this week.
Here’s what happened. They have had two backend outages that prevented peoples videos from appearing in sub feeds, channel home pages, channel video pages and seemingly from being entered into the recommendation engine. Yep, that’s just about every view source that we have!
The first time this happened it knocked out two videos, leading to my Dazar’alor reaction I getting 50% of expected views, and forcing the cancellation and reupload of a news channel video.
The second time it happened was a few hours after I published the recent loot box video on my news channel. It went up as per normal, was doing great, and then suddenly died.
Both of these outages lasted for at least a good few hours, with the current one being over a day. Unfortunately, it means that I can’t publish content - it’s actually enough to make some videos be at a loss to us.
So yeah, that has eaten up a load of time over the last few days. I actually have 2 Patreon vlogs (BTS stuff) recorded - don’t worry, they’ll be out in this billing cycle. No content gating over here!
Hopefully their next fix lasts for more than 24 hours! Thankfully everything else has been going fantastically, I just thought it was best to keep you in the loop on this.
