I actually really like apple blossoms...
I thought it would be apt to repost an old crow favourite since Isabelle (aka Crow Time aka @secondlina on instagram) made this great promotional image for our conversation / live drawing event taking place this Sunday for the Montréal Comic Arts Festival. I'm looking forward to it! It may be interesting to combine drawing live in front of a crowd and sleep exhaustion! Come check it out if you will be in Montréal this weekend.
A little subtle trivia for this comic: in the original that you see at the bottom, I used a digital typeface for all the lettering. So the physical original version of this comic has no words written on it. I've done this a few times in the past where I don't trust myself to get the lettering to fit the bubbles very well. I have since rewritten it all by hand, which is what you see in the split up frames at the top. I did this because I've never been a fan of how the digital font looks–it's too perfectly aligned! I also changed the spelling of 'favourite' to 'favorite' in the updated version for a new collection of comics that will be coming out later this summer. It sort of irks me to have to change spelling like that, but it's just to meet the style conventions of my publisher, which is based in the United States.
I suppose since I'm already talking about it, I may as well add:

Here is the new collection of False Knees strips that will be released on August 5th! I'm so pleased with how it came out. I've had a lot more experience with making books since the first collection came out in 2019, so I had more confidence with the choices I made. It's got a lot of my best work to date, plus a bunch of redraws of comics (I think like 30-40?) I originally posted exclusively here on Patreon. The rectangular format works well for the taller and longer comics I've been making more regularly in the last few years.
Preorders help a lot to get books seen for small authors, so I would really appreciate that if you can. I'd especially love if you would request your local bookstore to stock it, because small bookstores are the best and they're worth supporting!
