(image above: crow on statue in Paris)
In January, to promote a french translation of my comics, I travelled to France for a little book tour and my first international business trip (apart from the one-day comic fair I attended in Rochester, NY last year). I had three signing events at different bookstores in Paris where I met many friendly people who were patient enough to wait in line for a doodle of a bird (or earthworm!) in their books.

I then set off to Angoulême where they hold one of the largest comics festivals in the world every year. It's a small town, built on a hill, that has a lot of comic art on its walls, statues of cartoonists, and street names written in word balloons!

It looks peaceful in this photo, but it was full of tens of thousands of comic readers and artists! It was a rewarding but overwhelming experience.

This was a comic I made while answering questions for a 30 minute live drawing event in the Canada Pavilion. I realized pretty quickly that using watercolour on fresh ink was a risky decision to have made.
If any of you happened to see me while I was in France, thank you so much for coming out and supporting my adventure!
Finally, I wanted to share one thing that I've been working on recently: finishing Kneesvember! I chose a name and drew the cover, so here it is:

We've been told that things are slow at the book printers. But I will update you all when I find out when Woven will be ready to order.
