Hello everyone!
I have returned from my trip to Malaysian Borneo and in celebration of getting over the 12 hour jetlag, I have made a few quick paintings of some of the birdies I saw. This was the first trip I've taken where my focus was to see wildlife and I think I'm hooked! Just before leaving, I got myself a used and very large lens (VLL) for my camera–best decision I've made in a long time. Hopefully, I will be using these photos as reference for a lot of tropical comics to come.

Above is an Oriental Pied Hornbill (Anthracoceros albirostris), a dramatic bird who I always saw in pairs at the tops of trees. Simply oozing character.

This red-eyed bad boy is the Asian Glossy Starling (Aplonis panayensis), a very common bird to much of the world, but brand new to me! Already a fan favourite.

The Whiskered Treeswift (Hemiprocne comata). Common doesn't mean plain! This immaculately painted dream-boat is stealing my heart and all of my flies.

I am very excited to get back to making some comics. I feel invigorated with seeing all these dozens of beautiful species. Maybe I'll even do some monkey comics! Anything is possible.
I should also have some updates about the 2022 Falsetober book in the next couple of weeks.
Thanks all!

And now, a comic:

(I had a great experience with food in Malaysia; False Knees birds do not necessarily represent my opinions)
