Exciting news!

Hi everyone, Mélodie here! 

I'm a long-term False Knees fan, so I'm very excited to be in charge of updates from now on, and to share my love of everything False Knees with you. Josh draws much more than the comics that he posts online, so there's plenty of material lying around to share with you. I can't wait to show it all to you!

Josh has been really heads-down since the beginning of the new year on some projects he wasn't able to talk about... until now! Well, he hasn't made it official yet, so you will be the first ones to get a peek at two exciting things that are coming together: T-shirts, and a book (in French)!!

TSHIRTS:

This has been a long, long, long requested item from fans. The reason why Josh hasn't made T-shirts until now is that he was trying to figure out a way to print his artwork on quality fabric, made in North America, in a way that he could control the quality. Josh has a very strong focus on delivering quality products instead of making a large quantity of "stuff", which is why he isn't off-sourcing the printing of his comics and other merch to online websites like Society6 or Printful. Instead, he prints every print at home with professional printers, archival ink, and paper that he has sourced for quality and durability. It takes more time and effort, but this way he can control the results, colours, etc and can sell something he is proud of. 

SO! He's done the same for T-shirts. He's found a local T-shirt printing company that he was able to visit and see the fabric (made in North America) for himself. After some trial & error, learning how to design for a T-shirt (the lines in the drawing need to be really crisp to look good!), he's going to put a limited quantity of T-shirts online with a really cool crow drawing (we all love crows)! Here's the design:

Since this is a new endeavour, he is going to test on a small scale how well he can make it work. There will be 100 box T-shirts and 100 tank tops of various sizes. They should arrive any week now, after which he'll have to figure out how to best ship them. I'll keep you posted!

BOOK:

Another long requested item - a False Knees book is coming! This specific book is in French, because a French publisher contacted him directly (the comic book scene is huge over there). However... I'm not supposed to tell you yet but... there's an English one coming up as soon as the English publisher allows him to talk about it!! And that one will have tons of new, never published online comics - which he has been working on since January. I have seen them and there's as hilarious and beautiful as you'd expect. 

Anyways, we received samples of the French book last week, and I took a few pictures to show you how excited Josh was at holding his first book ever!

Like a proud dad looking at his first hatchling. I am French, and if you are interested in the French book, I can tell you the translations are extremely well made - which is a true feat in my opinion - and had me laughing out loud many times. It's great to see a translation of False Knees holding up to the original intent and humour.
