Commissions During Break: Wildtouched Part 2

Hi everyone, Arrow wanted to continue on his story about his Wildtouched character that he plays on Kaerwyn's RP site. So I'll pass it over to him.

Last time I discussed Richard, I hinted that things were approaching on his world. At the time I posted that, I had an upcoming plot I was preparing to launch, but couldn't say much, as some of the players are on this Patreon! Kaerwyn allows players to run their own plots through both voluntary offworld trips called "Rifts" and also the involuntary type of offworld trip called "Leaps", which I'll cover another time. I've run a few plots in the past, and I had decided to take another shot. But that plot is done now, so I can tell you how it went!

Last year in the fall, a character named Jeremiah went out during a major Kaerwyn plot and trespassed in a fae area without invitation. He entered with his friend and despite repeated warnings that they weren't welcome, and to leave, as they were trespassing and bringing iron weapons into a fae area, they persisted. Eventually, under mental domination, two of the fae attacked them until they retreated. Jeremiah had his right arm and left leg shattered in the event. He managed to be dragged back to the Kaerwyn Medical Center, staffed by Doc Riley, Meii, Rachel Whitefeather O'Shea as doctors, and Richard as the paramedic, amongst various NPCs assisting. The wounds were greivous, to the point that with the limited available tech on Kaerwyn, the diagnosis was at best double amputation. Riley suggested he be taken offworld to better medical facilities, if anyone was willing.

Richard volunteered to take him offworld to his world, to Augusta, Maine, in the mid 2010s, for treatment. He wasn't sure how he would pay for it, or explain anything, but that was a problem to be solved later; Rich takes his medical oath very seriously. So Jeremiah was transported offworld in an ambulance through the rifter, and dropped off at the medical center, and then Rich left before anyone could ask too many questions about it. He planned to come back later to check on Jeremiah.

For his part, Jeremiah didn't remember much of this, as he was in medically induced coma at the time. When he woke up about a week later, however, he was fully intact. Arms, legs. Fully healed. He inquired to the medical staff about his injuries and they seemed to think he'd just been brought in for a head injury; after some final exams and such, he checked out and went to Rich's duplex to wait. Eventually, Richard picked him up there, confused as to how he was that well patched up.

Everything seemed fine until the next full moon, when Jeremiah suddenly turned into a rabbit. And he began exhibiting signs of being a Wildtouched rabbit, similar to Richard himself. Unbeknowst to Jeremiah, forces on Rich's world had been after Rich for some time, but because Rich only made brief trips home, they'd never managed to mobilize fast enough to grab him. Jeremiah being connected to Rich, and totally incapacitated, presented an opportunity. One of the people who wanted Richard had found Jeremiah, and patched him up and cursed him with this status, as a way to try and bring Richard back to them. A rabbit to lure a hawk.

Starting over time to have weird memories in his head, of things that he could not remember ever happening, Jeremiah eventually went to Endymion for a scan of his aetheric signature. Endymion did perform the scan, which was a crucial plot point where the latent energies on Jeremiah, and a hidden trap blew out the scan and fed into Endymion, implanting a subconscious urge to go offworld...back to Augusta.
