And we're back.

So apparently there was a furry con or something going on at the same time we were gone. Rest assured, I was not there like some people assumed. Now that we're back I was given permission to talk about what happened.

A very close friend of mine required surgery. She needed someone to be there at the surgery center to pick her up and watch over for a few days. I had to be there with her to make sure she got enough food, water, and her medication. I also had to watch for any emergency situations, thankfully that never happened. This is why I said it wasn't a vacation. I was basically doing the light version of a nurse's job. I didn't leave the hotel for several days except to pick up food or other essentials. Thankfully there were restaurants and a grocery store next to our hotel.

I wanted to make a post about this while we were at the hotel, but the hotel wifi was insecure and I didn't want to log into Patreon/Ko-Fi during the time we were using it. Those of you using our discord at least got to talk to me day to day.

One of the things I decided to try working on while I was there was a yarn tail. There's a bunch of examples of these if you look them up, but basically you make a costume tail out of yarn. some of the results have been very impressive. Though as this was my first one, I didn't expect it to come out looking great.

I also was not prepared for how much time and effort these things take.

Here's some pictures of my process.

We started out with a ton of yarn:

You then have to make these little tufts:

This was just a couple of hours work, and it's no where near the amount I would need.

This is a full skein of yarn, and about 1/3 of what's needed in total:

Then you have to use a dog slicker brush to brush out the yarn so they form these fluffs:

The left is how they started, the middle is what they look like finished, and the right is all the excess fluff brushed off. The brushing was by far the hardest and most time consuming part.

I am still working on the brushing. I spent hours making the string ties, but I spent days just brushing, and I'm no where near done. This will take some time, and I'm not sure when I'll have the time to work on it any further. But when I do, I'll be sure to post!

Anyway, that's what I was doing for the past week. Sorry about posting no updates. I had some stuff I wanted to talk about, but again with the insecure wifi, I didn't want to log into patreon/kofi during that time.

And here's a bonus picture of our puppy Blazer, after I picked him up from the Vet/Boarder today. (He's gotten bigger!)

So I intend to get back to posting the comics this week. Thank you for your patience!

And we're back.
