Hey, thanks for your patience, I've had some technical issues and then some R&R. But a LOT has happened. Let me fill you.
Luke (NerdCraftHQ) and I are working on a new TTRPG bundle as a fundraiser to get him to Australia.

It has been a goal to get Luke to Australia for a while to make stuff together. We’re very close to making this happen but to push things along we spent a few late nights making some fun and silly stuff we can sell. Luke is a fantastic friend of mine and I think him being here will elevate Miscast stuff so much more.

It finally happened! After getting lost in the mail my walking house arrived! It’s designed by the brilliant Duncan Louca and published by 3DPrintedTabletop under a new project MinisByMakers! It's not OFFICIALLY launched yet (the website is still being worked on), but I think you can get it early here if you want.

I finally found some packing for my toads, these hessian bags which are going to be stenciled with branding and weathered to make them look like artifacts. Rachel and I have made it a mission to work out packaging and after trying hard plastic boxes, generic amazon packaging, jars, cardboard boxes, we settled on hessian bags that can be customised.

I wanted packaging that was reusable or multipurpose which led me to jars (the most versatile of packing), but getting the right size to fit a toad then turned into a shipping issue. Hessian bags however were easy to ship, could be reused as dicebags and looks like a real world artifact.
The studio is expanding! I have an office next door that is never on camera that has just turned into storage… annnnd that's lame! SO my dad and I are reworking this shelving section into a passageway with open backed shelving on either side to see into the next room. It’ll really open the place up and make the videos more dynamic.

I got my passport! I rushed my passport to try to get to Adepticon, unfortunately Lady Luck (or the postal service) was not in my favour. In a change of course I’m planning a trip (hopefully in a month's time) to shoot off to the UK to visit some YouTube friends very shortly. A goal I’ve talked about on here quite a bit has been to film a documentary about the hobby I love… hopefully this might be the start of that.

I'm currently editing my next video, a problem solving video about art for Arcane Ugly. It's a video about getting out of a slump and about authenticity and finding joy in painting. The problem solving series is about solving real problems and feeling a bit down was something I was going to keep to myself, but now I’m on the other side I want to talk about it.
My studio is filling up with paintings, I’m up to my tenth now!

There's one painting in particular that makes me laugh, and it's of this koala creature. I was on my way to the studio and while stopped in traffic, I noticed this tiny kid. They were just standing in the middle of a front lawn, not doing anything in particular but completely in the buff except for an oversized fluffy koala head hat covering their whole face. It was so surreal and silly I thought “I gotta use that as a mutation for arcane ugly."

The Arcane Ugly update will coincide with this video release. Fae has been helping a lot too.

After some field testing Zane has put together a new microphone stand iteration for me with a cord and headphone holder. Now I can easily shift around the microphone and recorder as one big unit if I need to go to a different room and it looks much tidier.

I love storage, as soon as I get a box, it's full. BUT I never have storage when I need it, like when I need to transport my terrain to a shop, or return my dad's tools or transport things from my home to my studio. BUT I also hate having empty boxes lying around, because they take up so much real estate. Every time I end up finding a container, emptying out the contents with the promise of replacing it later and something happens and like my dad isn’t home and now I’m stuck with tools in a container and stuff from that container all over my desk.
I wish someone had told me about collapsible storage earlier, specifically, collapsible crates. The ones I’m using now I stole so I wont show you, but you can buy them and they’re pretty cheap.

Here is a free Patreon download for my Imperfect Grid Paper. This is grid paper I designed to beat the intimidation of drawing maps for D&D and other TTRPGS. It's not perfect because neither am I (you might be though, I’m not sure, but you might think it's cool anyway)
