As we can see, you can put any soul into any container (like putting al into a suit of armor), but you can't bring back something that no longer exists. Whether that's the original body or the original soul. So yes, the end scene confirms we still have ed's original arm and leg, as well as al's original body, waiting by the doors of truth.
