I understand people’s sensitivity to the subject matter of IEWU and how the marketing campaign could be perceived as tone deaf, but I don’t think nearly as many people would have been interested in seeing the movie in theaters if the marketing wasn’t so “fun and floral”. So while I am very conflicted by it, in a way, it’s actually gotten more people to see it and talk about it and therefore does shine more of a light on and discussion about the subject matter, which I think is a ultimately a good thing

Read the book and saw the movie. Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni are in two completely different movies. Blake Lively, who I believe didn’t even read the book, is trying to create this narrative that the movie is this lighthearted rom-com and you would believe that because that’s all the PR she’s doing. Justin baldoni in all his interviews are talking about the real themes of the book and honoring the source material and the overall message of breaking cycles and ending generational traumas. Colleen Hoover is a problem too because you can tell she got caught up in the Blake Lively Ryan Reynolds and their whole Prom king and queen of Hollywood fame and as Taylor said in the ep, who wouldn’t want to be in their good graces but like girl stand on business this your mother’s story don’t be a sellout. Overall the ENTIRE movie is completely miscasted, except maybe Atlas, Blake Lively is a terrible actress, Justin Baldoni should not have been co-lead and director know when to pick a lane. Ick that Ryan Reynolds was involved in rewriting Blake’s scenes and stop trying to create a Barbienheimer moment it’s giving trying to make fetch happen. I’m gonna go now lol

Agreed! I think Blake wanted her Barbie, Eras tour moment and missed the mark with the marketing. It’s not a “wear your florals, grab your girlfriends” type of movie subject matter - I think Justin got steamrolled by Blake and Ryan Co. during the film and disagreed on how to market the film to the public. Blake and co clearly won and Justin, staying true to his intentions for the movie was not going to play along. It all feels so icky, but ultimately think Justin is in the right and Blake and co are on damage control/smear campaign.

I saw the movie and loved it. And I kinda liked the book. So if Justin is a jerk he is also a great actor and director

I love Blake and Ryan but I think they are the ones that are causing the drama. All of the It Ends with US promos from Blake are fun and light hearted. If you didn't read the book, you would have no idea this is about DV. All of Justin's interviews speak about the seriousness and message of the movie. That speaks volumes.

Adding on the what tay and sean were saying about the athletes supporting each other…I commented to my husband about the USA women’s volleyball team coming under the net to hug the opposing team instead of just shaking hands. I said I just love to see these women supporting each other. AND HE SAID HEY GIRL HEY!!!! HE DOES LISTEN LOL

We had 592 athletes competing compared to China’s 388. Makes sense we had the most medals overall! Makes chinas 40 gold like us even more impressive
