A Patreon Was Born
Added 2024-12-21 03:46:25 +0000 UTCHello everyone. It has come to my attention over the year I've spent running this channel that there are more than a few Japanese learners lurking in my audience.
To help you on your journey, I've decided to launch a Patreon. I'll begin with exclusive Japanese-subtitled versions of my videos. Moving forward, I’ll be sharing a range of language-learning content tailored for serious students who want to accelerate their gains.
What kind of content would help you the most? Let me know in the comments, because this page is for you.

This! Adding furigana would be a cool addition if that's not available yet.

2025-05-07 03:25:05 +0000 UTCAny way to have the subtitles with furigana above and word by word translation below in small font? The "AAS" format might allow it although I haven't used it

2025-04-02 03:35:23 +0000 UTCHey Andrew, thanks for your subscription. Unfortunately I no longer have the files for the older videos, but all uploads going forward will be accompanied by JP-subbed versions on here. Let me know if there are any topics you'd like to see covered again.

2025-01-28 17:13:53 +0000 UTCHey Pako, thanks for subscribing and welcome aboard. All videos include SRT file links and YouTube closed captions—some users use them as part of their sentence mining workflow, so I hope they’ll be helpful for you too. Happy immersing!

2025-01-10 01:57:56 +0000 UTCThis was an instant buy for me, thanks for doing this! Hoping to see more goofy topics like the chinese spy video. SRT files would be awesome too. Excited to see what other 'language-learning content' you have planned for the patreon.

2025-01-09 23:15:13 +0000 UTCThanks for your reply. While Google Lens can identify individual words, the workflow for making flashcards with software like Yomitan or Migaku requires the SRT file for downloaded videos, or ideally soft subs uploaded along with the YouTube video. This allows instant lookups with a mouse hover, marking words as "known", optional furigana, analysis of the entire video's subtitles to see approximate comprehension percentage, and the ability to create flash cards that record the audio along with the text of a sentence in seconds.

2025-01-09 21:11:53 +0000 UTCHey Matthew. Thanks so much for subscribing, and welcome aboard. Regarding the hardcoded subs, I figured tools like Google Lens or built-in character recognition software on most devices could help isolate specific words. That said, would having the SRT files make things easier for you? Let me know if you have any other suggestions—I created this Patreon to support Japanese learners, so I’m always open to tweaking things or adding features to make it more useful for everyone.

2025-01-08 22:32:11 +0000 UTCHappy to see you're making Japanese subs love your videos. Any reason you chose to go with hard coded subs? I was hoping to make Anki cards from your videos with Migaku
