And now for a little change of pace: recently I've gotten hooked on the RPG Maker process. I'm using RPG Maker MZ, which I believe is the latest product in the series at the time I am writing this, and it is equal parts frustrating and exciting to navigate. I made a tiny announcement on my Deviantart page a while back about potentially diving into the world of RPG games, and I have been tinkering around with this idea since then.
One of the reasons I've been slow with the process is I couldn't quite figure out what type of game/story I wanted to do. I never wanted to make a grand adventure or long, drawn out epic or anything, I simply wanted a game where you fought against girls with all your might and got your ass handed to you. But it still took some time.
I'm still not 100% settled on the idea I'm going with now but I'd rather just get going on it and force myself to be happy with it. I thought about using a fantasy/medieval setting for my game, or have the story revolve around heroes and villainesses, but ultimately I thought the best would be to be to set the game in a normal, modern, everyday world.
Kitbashing assets/resources and making a map in RPG Maker is very very fun. Here are a couple of screenshots from my world in progress. As you can tell it is very barren and void of people at the moment. I hope to populate it soon.
What is NOT as fun is piecing together all of the plugins I've downloaded to try and make the gameplay and combat flow the way I want it to. It's tough when I don't know much about coding at all, but I'm getting the hang of it. I am also not the most gifted graphic designer so my UI (albeit placeholder) is quite weak at the moment (lol). Maybe I'll get some commissions going for that stuff in the future!
One thing that I CAN do with confidence is create A LOT of busts, battlers, and cut-in pictures fairly quickly. The benefit of using Daz Studio for 3D rendering, which is basically just a posing, lighting, and rendering suite, is that I can make a lot of images on the fly so long as I have the character,clothing, hair etc. assets on hand. With this in mind, my focus of the game will be the combat. I'd like to have the player go up against a lot of different female characters, who each have unique movesets and various sexy techniques that they can defeat the player with.
I'm able to get my hands on these Daz assets because of the contributions made by my fans here on Fanbox. So thank you for continuing to support me, and I hope to have more updates for you soon!
