The existing trains are projected to exceed peak hour capacity in the next few decades and it’s already pretty bad. The metro has added a second harbour crossing for trains that can carry 40k people per hour and has the capability to go up to 100k. The old trains do 24k. Will be super important as Sydney grows over the century. Another one is opening from the CBD to Parramatta within the next decade. The metro is also just so much faster and modern and the new stations are surprisingly nice. Gadigal is 2 minutes away from Town Hall and you feel like you’re on another planet.

It’s affordable, you can pick by the strain, and it smells like tropical fruit. Back in the day in Melb it was such a struggle to get even poor quality weed

I've heard that some stores overseas have started removing them - partly because they've witnessed an uptick in shoplifting, but also because they aren't able to have those magazine racks and lolly shelves next to the checkouts that often provide an extra source of revenue. Haven't confirmed this but it sounds reasonable.

I absolutely despise self checkouts at grocery stores and department stores - not because I have the mentality that it's not my job to check my items out. It's because those self checkouts take away a job from a 16 year old kid who is trying to earn a bit of money or a uni student who is trying to make ends meet. I would much rather have that brief human connection than submit to a fucking machine. Mislav's ethos to be nice to retail staff really made me smile.
