Reusable face mask

The most important part of this process is the fabric.
If your material is thick, you may use a single sheet of fabric for the mask. If your fabric is thin, please make it double (2x measurements for the main piece). I used leftovers from the costumes I made throughout the years.
This particular one is 90% cotton and a bit of satin. It is really thick and non-stretchy. (Used for Ashitaka's hood)
- Wash your fabric at a high temperature and leave it to dry.
- Make a base for the mask: the short side is 17cm and the long one - 19cm. - This measurement is universal, taken from a pharmacy bought mask.
- Make 2 folds and pin them to the base.
- Add a finishing lace along the long side and sew over with a universal needle. (If your material is stretchy, try sewing it with a 75/14 - 90/14 needle, and a zig-zag mode on your machine.)
- Then pin your elastic pieces (~18cm long) to the end of the sides.
- Add finishing lace (~12cm) over the short sides and sew.
- Cut any excess threads or tangles to clean it up.
- Wash again.
- Since I gave them away, I stored them in safe packages.
That's it! It is really simple.
It may not be the chicest one, but it is better than not having one at all!
Stay safe!
