Based on memory I think moving forward the overall tone of the shown becomes less dark. While it definitely continues to have dark topics and themes it’s not as bad as season 5. I actually think this season is pretty good from a dialogue standpoint. It’s just so dark the themes and something messed up has happened to every main character.

Although I don't completely agree that season 5 is bad (most of it makes perfect sense when you think about it and know what will happen), there are some parts of it that leave a weird taste in your mouth. They are supposed to, ofc, but it's still somewhat hard to digest. It is really a season that showcases some of the worst of humanity, so in that regard it succeeds quite well. A season of contrast, even more so than most of the others. There are some triumphant moments (Jon in episode 8, Sam standing up for Gilly etc) but also some truly horrible moments. Just remember, most things balances out in the end. I hope you keep watching, some great episodes still to come.

2025-03-27 12:53:42 +0000 UTCyou never know what season 6 will have waiting for you around the corner i highly recommend watching season 6 and 7, game of throne is one of my all time favourite shows (i pretend season 8 doesn't exist though) so i might be biased but at least watch the start of season 6 to see if you'll continue, also the Cersei atonement walk was crazy, i remember just sitting there in silence not knowing what to think/feel.

I see plenty of people saying they enjoy the later seasons and the Finale, too, so who to believe? I think everyone should make themselves their own opinions. Season 5 was darn hard to get through, yes, but that's a General consesus the worst season, not because the episodes are bad themselves, but because it has a lot of scenes that are just hard to watch and stressed us really out this season. But I feel like, now that we have the worst of the Show behind us, I believe we can finish the entire thing and Form our own final opinion. Maybe season 5 is so hard, so that we have a better idea of the impedending doom of humanity... and how, honestly, humanity deserves that doom. Cause I'm honestly with ya at this point... let the Whalkers get 'em all.. lol

I never planned to rewatch because it is so intense, but im glad i have been able to watch again with you. I hope you give a Game a Thones another chance and see what happens because there are so many story lines still open, but i cant promise you that you will love it. I think you have seen the best seasons already, the final 3 just offer some closure.

There are episodes coming that I personally need to see your reaction to. Lol. Season 5 is a hard season for a lot of people to get through. Season 6 is a way better in my opinion. Does stuff happen that makes you wanna cuss scream and throw things absolutely but there are some highs that make everything everyone has been through worth every crappy thing that has happened. I do see episode 1 will be posted, so I'm hoping you are, but at least give season 6 a chance! Not you wanting to curse us out at the end though 🤣🤣 I made a comment to my fiance and that's when you looked deadpan into the camera after it was over and we lost it! 🤣🤣

2025-03-27 01:50:24 +0000 UTCI think I read somewhere that the reason why white walkers was made in the first place was because humans persecute the children of the forest thats why they had to hide and basically became a myth however because the white walkers were undead, whoever created them had no control over them so they just became an army whose sole purpose is to cleanse the world from the evils of humanity. Not sure if this is canon tho I forgot where I read that, it may just be a fan theory

It doesnt feel right to drop the whole thing cause there are characters worth knowing the ending for. Though whatever the choice may be, if that's how its gonna be for the good of the channel and your peace of mind Caitlin then we'll have to accept it. I really hope you continue tho 🙏 it gets better for the majority of our favorite characters

I'm not putting it as eloquently as other comments have, but please do continue watching. and I agree with you that S5 is the weakest season. I just felt like it had alot of violence and humiliation (especially towards women) for shock value and it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

2025-03-27 00:13:08 +0000 UTCThis series is full of plot twists I would never put into a novel I was writing, and as horrifying and frustrating as it is at times -- and as reflective of the worst of human kind -- you'd wish there was a bit more of the "best" of human kind in the mix as well when the magical elements that at times save a scene or an episode are just too infrequent and far between for my taste. I almost felt that the writers were a little too over-indulgent in mutilating story lines and purging of decent characters, but back then the novelty of it wasn't as tiring as they are in these times. Anyway...you only have to remember that there is in fact unpredictable forces -- and hidden truths -- in this world, and move on to see exactly how Season 6 unfolds...

Why would I be happy to see her be degraded like that? I also said that she should not have been able to go back to the king and should have stayed until her trial. It’s unfair that she gets let off in a way. There's something beautiful about Sansa and Theon, two of characters that have suffered the most in this series, finally being able to take their destiny into their hands by jumping off the wall. Sure they would probably die, but it would be their choice. Their way out. Cersei redemption arc let's fucking goooooooooo (Me when I lie) The way Cersei looks up at the Red Keep, at the idea of getting back to her son. It's heartbreaking. Yeah the way the High Sparrow was smirking when he talked about Cersei's walk of atonement was sick. It's like he got off on humiliating her in front of so many people while using religion as an excuse to do so. Yeah this season was hard to get through tbh. Felt like a lot of nothing. GIRL YOU'RE SO RIGHT! Jon could've left when he heard Ned was killed, when he knew Robb needed him, when he fell in love with Ygritte, when he was so close to Bran, when he was offered Winterfell and the Stark name. He sacrificed EVERYTHING he has ever wanted and known for this damn Nights Watch. For them to fucking betray him?? Fuck them

It's been a decade now I think 😅 I believe Jon also died for a different reason though. Here he was killed for apparently betraying the Nights Watch with letting the wildings come through. In the book, it was for a different reason. I'm not sure about the details, but I believe it was because Jon was going to lead the brothers to fight against the Boltons and retake Winterfell? So nothing to do with the wildings, more so of political meddling when it's not his place to because of his vow with the Nights Watch.

Then we had to wait so long to find out what happened in season 6. I think season 6 gets much better for me than season 5 that's all I can say.
