I'M LATE TO THIS REACTION. THANK YOU, CAITLIN! As someone else said already, I heard this song years back by Utada Hikaru whenever it was released or maybe sometime after it was released, so I was familiar, but the way it was remade made it -better- for me. I don't know if I'd say I 'loved' the original, but...this made me appreciate it more than before. The Utada song I loved was "Sakura Drops" and maybe "Addicted To You" (which is funnily enough produced by Janet Jackson's team, which is why it has the same type of sound as "That's The Way Love Goes". Before I knew that info, I assumed it was a literal copy of Janet Jackson, but no, same producers worked with both Janet and Utada). Also not sure if this is a no-no topic, but it feels like it was sung in such a way to prove that it's better to have the real person singing and not an AI-cover. I don't know if that was the case. Not my own opinion to begin with, but I saw it on comments under the video and I seem to have ended up agreeing with it because of how good this sounds. You can tell Haechan went out of his way to provide differences vocally to the cover and didn't just straight up 'cover' the song in the exact same style of Utada. I really appreciate that because it makes the cover standout that much more (and catch non-fan's/casual listeners' attention- who could also be fans of Utada, not yet NCTzens) and makes it extra special. Like nobody else but this singer (in this case, Haechan) could cover it in -this- manner, that type of feeling.
