THE TRUNK EP. 8 FINALE

Well we have finished this show! This was soooo good! I am so glad that I continued it despite there not being much interest in it. It's my K-drama of the year (2024).

Hope you guys enjoy! x

I so fully agree with you. This show was such a pleasing suprise for me. NO ONE (besides ms. netflix) recommended it to me and I had never seen it anywhere b4. But I gave it a chance and I was so intrigued from the beginning. I'm so glad you gave it a chance too. The lack of buzz... I cannot understand but it's just one of those funny things, bc on the other hand, I had to literally FORCE myself to finish WTPR just bc I don't like leaving things unfinished. The build up, the tension, the tenderness, the intimacy, the small gestures, the expressions... down to the soundtrack. Are watching the same thing?? Boring ??😭 I was giggling, biting my fist and kicking my feet in the dark. THIS IS FOR THE YEARNERSSS!! My comfort drama now. Anyways, I guess the girls that get it, get it.

It was a delight to watch this with you and I hope this drama will get more recognition in the near future. I kinda liked that the ex wife never apologized and just said that she's not a good person because she isn't and she stayed true to that till the very end. So it's good riddance when it comes to her.

Well thank you Caitlin for sticking with it, and posting the reactions even without the high engagement. I appreciate you sticking to your guns on this, and recognizing what an amazing show this was. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this with you, I actually finished it before because it was soooo good to me I wound up finishing it off before your final few episodes were posted, and I still wanted to rewatch it because it was that good...and of course I wanted to see your reaction and hear your perspective. As far as the ending I totally understand the choice made, they were both some very broken people, and needed some time to heal. They both were drawn to toxic situations & people. I think for her she needed to know that outside of the chaos they could both be okay, but also could she still love him without needing to "save" him, and you see that she does( her carrying the scarf around was a great choice). I also loved to see him snicker after he said he was so lonely, because it was him accepting that it was okay. The ending was very hopeful and I am okay with that. Like you I believe their 2nd encounter is on the way. As far as the wife, she was such a narcissist, the really scary, dangerous kind. My hope for her is actual help, therapy but she would never see how she needs it. I think just about every choice was a calculated one to be in control, over the ex and the contract husband. I even think the pills she took were a play to get back into the home and for him to take her back and it didn't work this time. He pitied her enough to take her in but that is as far as he would allow. Okay I'll stop here because this is so long, but thank you again, this was my fav KDrama from 2024, and I am officially a Woo Gong fan! Off to find what else he is in, and watch(aside from Train to Busan & Squid Game, already watched it).

Loved this show sooo much! It's such a great nuanced and mature example of relationship building and relationship destruction depending on your mindset, intentions, insecurities, beliefs, ethics, actions, perceptions, and behaviors when it comes to moving through life and treating those around you. Every single action and thought matters.

I really enjoyed watching this with you, thank you for doing it till the end! Definitely one of my favorite Dramas I've watched now. I also love Gong Woo as an actor and I'm not sure if I recognized the female lead but she was amazing actually the whole cast was. Maybe you could watch Goblin next time if you haven't yet :)

I didn’t say that he forced her. I said she “felt” like she was forced to. I think her feelings are valid BUT she went about it all wrong. If she had communicated I’m sure something could have been figured out. She was suffering alone but that doesn’t excuse what she did. Like I said she crossed a line and there was really no coming back from it.

I think the ex wife not apologizing is great writing because it’s consistent with her actions throughout the whole show. Even she admits that there is something wrong with her since she didn’t feel maternal instincts at all so she came up with the conclusion that she’s just a bad person. And him looking at her walk away after saying that makes me feel as a viewer that he just doesn’t care anymore. Which is so powerful because he always felt controlled by her. Loved your reaction girl!! And I love that you react to whatever you like and feel passionate about. That makes the reactions so interesting and detailed🤍 keep it up!

The ex wife had no redemption for me because she never thought what she did was wrong. Also you’re mad at him for wanting to save the baby more than you but you didn’t just try to kill the baby you wanted to die too so that reasoning didn’t make sense to me. Thanks for finishing this drama it’s one of my favorites!!!!
