I don't know if it's just me or the previous season made me this way (with this 2nd season) but this episode with the russian roulette did not faze me. I love that the messenger had his spotlight in this episode. I'm used to seeing this actor with a heroe kinda role. The nice guy. If not, still somewhat "normal". Not like this. He did it so well. It's the first time I saw him take a role like this. Given....I don't watch kdramas. I keep forgetting his name too even though he's a well known actor.

I admit I was initially apprehensive about watching the first season because I knew the deaths would be brutal and it would be a hard watch for me, but finally decided to watch with you, and aside from the brutality of it, the series was written extremely well and had me locked in! Also the message resonates with many no matter where you are in the world. I know there is chatter about this season, and the comparisons to the first season and I usually don't have high expectations of sequels but from this episode even if not better than, I can tell it will be good, and that is all I can hope for when watching a show or film, great writing, a solid story, fleshed out characters, and character development. I think we are in good hands. Looking forward to watching this season with you as well. Also Mr Gong is such an amazing actor, to have that much impact in his short time on screen, wow...definitely one of my favs out of SK.

2024-12-28 17:17:46 +0000 UTC1:09:12 the actor's name is Gong Yoo and i agree he's an AMAZING actor!! i think the first drama i've seen him in was Goblin and his role there is completely different from what we see in Train to Busan and this (even tho he has such lil parts here in Squid Game but his acting from those lil bits was chefs kiss, truly), but he kills any role he plays. also i agree with you on your favorite scene from this episode bc omg, it was so tense between the two of them and both Gong Yoo's character and the main lead did so great. :')

Little Women (a spin on the book, modern day, three sisters, but with a murder mystery) is actually quite interesting. (This one not too huge on reacting to it, but a good show nonetheless) Gyeongsang Creature who has another main lead of Park Seojun (main lead in Itaewon Class) the second season also dropped this year. Really interesting as well. I feel like your reaction to this one would be wild. Even if you don’t react to them, I’d still recommend them as a watch! (But also let me know what you think 😂)
